1991 lt35 starting problem

Hi. i have had an lt35 1991 for a couple of years now and she has alsways been a bad starter. i decided to finally tackle it. changed glow plugs and had no effect. then i noticed the fuel running back to the filter when i turned the engine off. the supply line is clear so i can see lots of tiny bubbles emerging from the banjo bolt where it enters the fuel pump. ive changed all the washers on the bolt but it still happens. the annoying thing is i can hear a hissing as the air gets in and it seems to comr from the banjo bolt but its difficult to tell. ive now changed the supply pipe but the hissing is still there and she starts no better . oh the drop downs didnt have my model so i put in the nearest to it

Went to start the car this morning and wouldnt turn over. Tried on a couple of occasions and was not even near to starting. All lights, radio, heater, etc working okay and not had any problems ever before...

Try jump starting, see if it starts then. Lights, radio, etc.. don't draw nearly the amps that your starter does. Batteries don't always give warning when then decide to "go south". If you can get it started by jump starting, stop by a local Autozone, Advance, etc.. auto parts store and have them do a charging system test and to load test your battery. They offer this service for FREE
Another Note: When was timing belt last replaced? If it's a 325 of that year it should be done every 60k (If it's 318 ignore the above belt issue)

After my van cools off good, when you try to start it, it will click several times before it will turn over and crank.

That's a classic symptom of a starter going bad. My best advice it to replace it before it decides not to turn over the engine at all.

I can give you more details on replacing the starting if you think its something you would like to tackle yourself. They are not to bad to do. Just let me know.

I have a 1991 Toyota Corolla won't start only click sound, then after couple of minutes the car start right away and once you turn it off same thing happened, bought a new battery, cause i thought that was...

It is a starter problem. But before you get the starter repaired/replaced check also the ignition switch. quite possible that it may be defective.

1991 Honda Accord Starting/Ignition trouble

sounds like a bad battery or the battery cables are corroded where they hook up to the battery or loose. if it cranks for a couple seconds slow than clicks quickly there isnt enough voltage getting to the starter. not all new parts are good.

Sounds like the starter decided to quit on you. Replace it and things will be better.
