Blower fan not working - 2005 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2WD Laramie
My blower fan began not working by running on low, no matter what position the switch was in, and it was kind of "clicking" as if a leaf was inside it or something. Then after a few months, it completely stopped altogether.
I recently replaced the fan blower/motor assy and it worked! But only for about a month. Now it's not working at all again even with a brand new blower!
This is frustrating, and I don't want to take it into the shop and pay an arm and a leg for diagnosis, parts, and installation. I'm thinking resistor module as was stated in this post? I'm going to buy one as well as ask about the wiring harness short in the steering column as someone mentioned as well. If it works, I'll post the solution here.

The resistor module has resistors for the various positions available to your switch except the highest speed which has none. High speed will generally work if you lose a resistor, however, there is generally a thermal protection (thermistor) in line that will blow open if the resistors heat up so you don't have a car fire. Make sure you test your fan by putting 12 volts to it, also check your system for a filter that may be clogged, no air flow over the resistors. Most of the resistor modules can be checked with an ohm meter once out and you should see some coil looking wires and a little silver thermistor all which should have complete connections and test positive for resistance.

So my low tire pressure warning goes off because it says the right front tire is low. ... It should reset, it may take a cycle or two but unless you need a new sensor it should be ok. ... It was automatic on my truck and it's a 2010.
The blower motor resistor gets very hot, so it is always located in a position where the blower can keep it cool. Inside the box with the blower but accessed from the outside, usually with two screws holding it in.
