I have a 1999 Jetta and the #14 fuse keeps blowing. Took it to a shop for repair yesterday. They by-passed the comfort control module and said this would keep it from blowing the fuse. Fuse blew as soon as we got to our next stop and has continued to blow every time we cut the car off. The shop has no other answer. What should I do next?

1999 ford super duty relay coil keeps blowing fuse. truck wont start. why?

Some of those trucks had a heater coil in the fuel filter bowl. It would short out and blow the fuse . Try unplugging the wire just behind the bowl ,and replace the fuse again. that may fix the problem.

I have a 2006 jetta 2.5 an the ignition coil on cylinder number 2 always keeps melting, and a fuse always keeps blowing in the fuse box under the hood, the car will not start when the fuse is blown, but...

seems like perhaps that coils location is too close to the manifold which if the timing is not correct gets hotter than all get out ,like fire red hot see if you can add a heat shield under/ between the coil and manifold

99 vw jettal 2.0 gas fuse 29 15amp fuse keeps blowing-no spark unpluged coil and fuse keeps blowing. help please

Thats the fuse for the ECU, engine control module, and is a 15amp for gas 2.0. i would locate the ECU which is under the center of the plenum in the engine compartment and disconnect the long plug. Check for green discoloration on the multipin connector. Sometimes moisture will get in there and short some of the pins together. Leave ECU unplugged and replace the fuse. If it still blows cause is between the fuse and the ECU.

2000 vw passat blows fuse # 14 -if you unplug the comfort control module under the drivers rug the fuse won't blow

I have a 2000 passat that had issues with the comfort control module. A lot of the interior electronic features stopped working (i.e., power windows). It turned out that there is a connection in the wiring that gets corroded due to water. The wiring is external to the actual ccm box, but under the carper. I simply removed the wrapping, and re-soldered the wire. It may be that something similar is happening here and causing a short, that in turn blows the fuse.

Blows fuse 14

Simply replace the fuse with the correct 'amp'.
If unsure of what fuse or amp to use, just take the blown fuse to any autoparts store and show the clerk. They will get you the correct fuse.

If the fuse keeps blowing up, it means you have a short-circuit somewhere in the system. And you could rectify the problem by making sure all the ground-wires in the engine compartment are clean and tight.

Yes - relay 109 is your main power fuse and they're famous for going bad. Read this thread - it's from a TDI website - but it's exactly the same. The TDI guys really know their stuff.
