If you have a 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria, and your headlights and or tail lights don\'t work, Ford just finally extended the warranty on your LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free - both parts and labor and will install a new one for free! Ford has extended the warranty to 15yrs/250,000. Must be done at Ford and the fix is free. Call your local Ford Dealer and tell them you need to make an appointment because your lights don\'t work and Ford has extended your warranty on the LCM. Tell them it is the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01. Have your Vin number ready as they will ask for it. If they act ****** ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them or you can call Ford yourself. We just had ours done on 8-12-14 in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have a 99 you better get there before Oct. 14th, 2014 as it is a 15 year warranty.

I had this problem on my 2004 and it was the headlight module when it gets hot it turns out, and comes back on when it cools off

I had this problem with my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. Dealer wanted over $600 to replace the LCM (lighting control module). My mechanic said it might be something wrong with the security system, headlight panel switch of the turn signal control or LCM. Either way it was going to cost me hundreds. So I went online and found a guy in the San Fernando Valley here in sunny SoCA and he said it was probably the LCM... and he said he'd install a rebuilt one for free to check. Took him about one minute under the dash at the steering wheel to install the rebuilt one and solved the problem. Charged me $150 for the LCM and $25 to install it. He warn me the A/C and Heating module would probably go next, and is more expensive for him to fix. Here's his link.http://www.shop.modulerepairpro.com/ .

Sounds like a bad headlight switch, the 2003 mercury marquis has a circuit breaker built into the headlight switch that goes bad.
Check with your mercury dealer for a headlight switch recall.

Maybe it hasn't.

My radiator fan stays on its not the relay, could it be the sensor? where is it located if it is the sensor? thanks laurie

Could very well be the sensor (thermostat). No idea where yours is located, but parts store location chart may help, or you could buy a shop manual.

The headlights don't work in my 2003 Mercury Marquis

First check the light bulbs if they are not the reason then, Welcome to the ford world, there is a thing called LCM (light control module in the grand marquis crown vics and lincoln town cars, sometime they go bad, your best bet before you look for replacing the LCM is to look for the headlight fuse and the relay, when you are sure it is not these two, then you can be sure its the LCM

Where is the headlight relay located

Ford just came out (in April 2014) with an extended warranty for headlights that don't work on the 1999-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. It is a 15 year/250,000 mile warranty and it is called Customer Satisfaction # 14N01. Ford will replace the LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free. Call your Ford dealer to get an appointment (this is only if your headlights don't work) and have your vin # ready. It is called the "Ford Customer Satisfaction Program # 14N01". Or call your local ford Dealer. If they act like they don't know what you are talking about ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford. We just had ours done on August 12, 2014 in AZ.

Headlights stay on constantly when on auto setting

there is a sensor on the dash (topside) that detects light...if it is covered with anything, it will turn on the lights when the key is on.

Flasher relay in a 98 mercury grand marquis?

The fuse block the relay is located in is behind the knee bolster, the trim panel under the steering column, left of the steering column underneath the dash. Common source of problems if that does not fix it is the Light Control Module ( LCM), turn signal switch unit, headlight switch.

I have a 2004 Mercury grand marquis. The head lights some time will not come on when I turn on the switch. they also will go off sometime with out me turning of the switch. Come on intermittantly. what is...

You have a Relay box under the hood with a collection of Relays. There should be one marked Headlight Relay on a sticker under the panel cover. When you turn on the headlights you are actually activating this relay which connects the battery power to the headlight bulbs.

It sounds like this Relay either has a dirty connector or the Relay is shorting inside. Since you still have working headlights the problem would less likely be a fuse and more likely to be the Relay.

You can get this relay on the aftermarket and easily install it yourself. I hope my solution eliminates your problem.

Location of headlight relay on 1993 mercury grand marquis, head lamps flash off and on after 15 mins

that is caused by a "circuit breaker" not a relay. when it starts flashing, carefully go over the harness from the firewall to the rf headlamp, there is a short somewhere.
