Question about 1992 Chevrolet C1500
Have you tried the shift module it is towards the front of the transmission pan on the left hand side if you are on your back underneath it. it has two wires attached to it brown and white i think but don't quote me on that it will just pull out with a little pressure after you remove the two retaining screws part is about twenty bucks

If you can shift into 3 and 4 gear with the engine off then probably the synchronizer are stripped you can also do a road test if you can shift into first then you can drive the truck and shift by synchronization if you can shift like that then you need a clutch
