i checked all fuses they are not blown also there is not a fuse marked tail lights

If it is blowing the fuse then you have a wire that has been rubbed through and shorting out causing the electricity to not go through the load in the circuit, the bulbs. Check that first. They may be on the same circuit.

Check your tail light fuse, on the dodge ram the dash lights and tail lights use the same fuse so if the tail light fuse blows your dash lights will go out to alert you of no tail lights.

The BATT A7 Fuse #1 15 amp in the junction block is the tail light fuse, sorry I thought it said tail light. This fuse stays hot all the time, If this fuse is good check for power with a test light to fuse #5, 5 amp with headlight switch on, If you have power at this fuse your dash lights should be on, If you do not have power at this fuse with the headlights on replace your headlight switch.

My tail lights were a blown fuse but did not help with the dash lights. 1995 Dodge Dakota 4x4 V-8 Magnum. The fuse for the tail lights was number 8 under the dash by the hood release.

I have a 1998 dodge ram sport w/ same problem. Under floor board on drivers side you will find 2 connectors ,I unpluged the one that feeds rear of truck (problem of fuse blowing went away) from here (w /park lightes on), reconnected each wire w/ a jumper. Black w/ yellow trace caused fuse to blow.I then followed harness to rear where I found harness was partially pinched by rear bumper bolt's teardrop shaped metalstop, upper left inside frame.I loosened bolt ,repaired wire all is good again.

Check all the "spare" fuses in the fusebox. replace any that are empty with the proper grade fuse. If it pushes in like it's connecting, that may very well be your problem. If it just slides in and out, the slot is unused, and therefore, "spare".
