It my be that the pump is letting the fuel drain back out of the fuel lines so it takes a couple of sconds to prime the injectors

Changed the fuel pump and also got the timing. Chain changed But still want stay started. Ooh it is a 87 delta 88 oldsmobile

Have you changed the plugs and wires? If the plugs are very old, and the damper it is, the less it will stay running. Routine tuneup and oil changes on chevy motors and aside from a fluke parts breakage or abuse, they will last about forever.if it's tbi, check and clean all grounds, change the fuel filter, the module in distributor cap, (very rarely the distributor goes, *see bad ground) the coolant sensor (either sends too cold, putting too much fuel =running rich, or sends too hot, putting too little fuel = running lean) and also fuel pump (start with module, most of time it's that) used module is cheaper I used to cart spare in glove box and special bit for the screws.
If it's carbureted, check the fuel filter in the inlet at the carb, and also if you already changed the fuel pump, it might be faulty and not be pumping fuel.

Truck ran out of gas changed fuel pump and fuel filter still didnt start used stater fluid started up but wont crank unless i use starter fluid what could be the promblem

You aren't getting the fuel up from the tank yet. By running out, and also by changing the fuel pump, you have completely emptied the lines. If it doesn't come up within a reasonable time, check again that your new fuel pump is bringing it up. Also check your new filter, because it may be blocked already. By emptying the tank, as soon as you put fuel in you will **** up any rubbish on the bottom of the tank, which would normally float harmlessly in the tank. There's a couple of starting points for you.

Signs of a Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator
the vehicle will not start, if a bad regulator. Usually, this is a problem that is encountered in the morning when you start your vehicle. Many a times, the engine starts, but stalls shortly after starting. check the fuse and relay for pump. also remove line to fuel pressure regulator and if fuel in line, replace fuel pressure regulator. check for spark and also the timing belt. its one sign of not starting. if car runs fine on spray, I would not say its the timing belt or chain.

If the car starts when you pour gas into the carb. The fuel pump is defective. Or the fuel filter is stopped up.

Huming sound frome below the trunk

Sounds like electric fuel pump in tank. Turn car off, cycle key to /onrun, (not start) , you should hear it for short time, then stop. It will return when engine started, if so, it's your fuel pump. If you never noticed it before, get fuel filter changed, to help prolong life of pump, if not on it's way out already.
