SOURCE: I have a 2008 pt cruiser. The engine light is on

My PT cruiser is a couple of years older, but I had the same problem. Drove fine, but start-up was erratic for several weeks. By the time  AAA arrived, it usually was working fine. But when it suddenly  started "struggling for power on the freeway and further along on the same trip, lurching (on a city avenue) I drove straight to my mechanic. It WAS the same sensor . . . and car has been driving perfectly ever since he changed it.

mcdevito75 here, Yes a crankshaft sensor could cause your mentioned problems, the sensor should be located near the Harmonic balancer, you may need a special tool to remove it and if I'm not mistaken the new sensor thakes an adjustment, Have auto zone change this sensor for you, even if you succeed, how often will you change this sensor.

2008 PT CRUISER error codes P0172 and P0300

Running lean with a random missfire. Look for a vacuum leak around the intake manifold and hoses. Spray some carb cleaner around the engine. If it speeds up-you have a vacuum lead.

My pt cruiser the rpms are shooting up and down while the car is going down to a stop while driving

Idle valve or a possible vacuum hose leak. check for leaks or loose connections at the intake boots from the air cleaner past the mass airflow sensor and any hoses that go to the intake manifold to see if they are old , cracked , or just worn out,, can cut 1/4 inch off the end and re attach in some cases,,, if the hose end is worn out

Where is the throttle body on a 2008 pt cruiser?

Well the throttle body is at the end of the hose going to the air cleaner. It has the throttle plate with the cable attached. The upper plenium goes over the valve cover and attaches to the lower intake.

Where is my vacuum supply hose located on my 09 pt cruiser

On the drivers side of the engine bay you will find the brake master cylinder, behind the master cylinder is the brake booster. It is what the master cylinder is actually attached to. There should be a vacuum hose attached to the booster that goes directly to the engine. See if this is the source of the air noise when the car is running. If so, just find out where the end of the hose used to be attached and re-install it.
