We all have the same problem. I haven't got real far into fixing it, but I have removed the panel. I'm not sure if it is the proper way to remove it, and I have broken some screws that keep it attached to the door...oops. I seem to be removing some body parts by force. That's basically what I do. I actually went to a junk yard and took some of the screws from the broken down S-Type, put them in my pocket and left. Hope this helps you in some way.

Front Passenger door lock stuck

Hi Andrew:
Many local tow truck operators know how the latches work and use a tool called a slim jim to trip the latch.

If you really want to give it a go yourself, I'd remove the interior panel on the drivers door so that I could see exactly how the mechanism worked. Using that knowledge, you'll have to practice using a skinny tool, wire, whatever works, to unlatch the drivers door.

Once you've got it figured out, apply the mirror image of that process to the passenger door.

When you achieve success, you will be well on the way to becoming a tow truck driver. (or a car thief)

I have a 2001 Chevy Express 3500 15 passenger van. A few months ago the power windows started going out, as in the would not work but if I opened the driver door just right it would work. Now they have...

The usual source for the window problem is the wiring between the inside front door and the kick panel where the wires run in a harness and are usually rubber booted. Everytime the door opens and closes the wires are bent back and forth and they break.

The front passenger door window has fallen down. How do I take off the interior door panel?

after removing all visible screws on the door panel, the window crank(if equipped) and likely the door handle; the panels just snap/pop off and on.

1988 jaguar and cannot open doors from outside

need to remove the interior door panels and check all the linkages. One of them is a brittle plastic linkage that is famous for breaking, and bits get caught up in the travel path of the door handle. I had taht issue, and rebult all mine with aftermarket plastic linkages, and the metal parts I pulled from junkyard cars. No way to fix it without removing the interior door panels, but that is thankfully a pretty easy job.

You did not mention whether it was a front or rear door? I assume its a front because u stated no screws.

Here are instructions for front door:

Remove the plastic trim from behind mirror(just snaps on).
Remove the window switch panel(just snaps on).
Remove the screw behind the mirror cover.
Remove the screw behind the window switch panel.
Remove the courtesy lamp lens.
Remove the screw in the courtesy lamp housing.
Remove the inside door handle trim cover.
Remove the inside door handle bolt.
Lift upward and then outward to remove the front door trim panel
