I went out the other day to start my stratus up and it wouldnt start, it would crank, but it was like i didnt have gas. Made a phone call to the dodge dealership and they said that it might be the chip in my key, considering that the check engine light didnt come on.I have yet to get that done because they said i would have to have my car there with the key to check it. But if someone finds the answer please tell

Re: My 2000 Stratus wont start either
If your check engine light does not go on when you have the key on engine off then you should check first the fuse box for the shut down fuse under the hood next to the battery if the fuses are ok then check the shut down relay on the cover of fuse box you can see which is the shut down relay remove the relay and with a test light connected to ground with the key on engine off you should have to terminals turn on your test light if not then your problem could be pcm if you get light on two then check for the relay it may be faulty but your check engine light should turn on when you have key on engine off good luck

wont crank as in turn over or wont start? if it wont start it could be a fuel pump. if plugs have spark its fuel related . when you turn on the key most pumps make an audible hum for a few seconds to pressure up the lines for starting
Make sure battery has a full charge. If it cranks good but won't start, check the basics. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse.
If your missing everything, I'd check the cam and crank sensor signals. I realize you replaced the crank sensor.
Any applicable trouble codes? I don't know what testing you have done?
With idle issues clean the throttle body and idle air control, see if it helps? Could be other issues?
