Question about Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

Clicking in hood, could be fuel injectors?

Hey, thanks for the help. I did have a question though. The clicking sound under my hood in the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE. Is it Normal as in nothing to worry about? Or should I get it checked? My coworker said it's been there since he bought it and not to worry about it, but I'm not sure if that's the total case.

My 2005 Buick Rendezvous Ultra is intermittently starting. I've replaced the fuel pump already. It cranks over but won't start. This is same thing before fuel pump was replaced. What else could it be?

Anti theft could be malfunctioning... listen for the clicking of the fuel injectors when you put the ignition into pre start position.. then look at the dash for anti thief not turning off... no ignition injector clicking or no fuel pump whirring could be a fuse in the dash or under the hood.

Why is there a clicking noise from fuse box under the hood

Check relays inside fuse box to see which one is clicking....feel the relays to see which one it is, then it will tell you what circuit this is controlling. Either a bad relay or an electrical problem with a component, motor or something.

Clicking sound when ignition turned off

I had a similar issue on my Nissan sentra years ago. In my case it was the fuel injectors clicking because a diode in the cars computer had failed. It would only stop when I pulled the fuse for the injectors under the hood. You may have a similar issue. On mine it just sounded like a regular clicking under the hood. Very loud with the engine off

1999 Dodge Durango is running rough and will not idle. I have 3 codes of p0203 injector circuit 3 open, p0204 injector circuit 4 open and p0206 injector 6 open. What might cause all these to fail and...

This one could be tricky but i have an idea or two. First thing to check is the connections at the fuel injectors. Unplug them all one at a time and insure they are free of rust and moisture. Next..trace the injector wires through the harness and check for melted wires. If all the connection are good and there is no melted wires find the ECM under the hood. Its located on the firewall on the passenger side. Unplug the big connector and check for rust and moisture. Your model may have 3 connectors so check them all as well. Next grab all the injectors while the engine is running. You should feel them clicking. The ones that don't click are the culprits. After unplugging the ECM you might want to remove the negative termanal from the battery for 2 minutes, This will flash the ECM trouble code memory. Start the engine and see if the problem persists. Good luck

Early morning start up ''metal on metal'' sound from engine. Louder han the normal fuel injector clicking sound. Oil presure jumps from just under 40 to 45 44.000 miles

oil pressure is fine, sounds like carbon and gum build up on piston rings or vavle guides. try some engine restorer that pours into oil, like wynns.
