The remote can be checked. If it works, then the BCM needs scanned to what is wrong. Battery, first have it tested. If it is good, then the electrical system has to be tested for a draw. Most common draws are the alternator, starter, radio, and lights inside the vehicle.

SOURCE: keyless entry not working

Hi I am Vortash .. within is a small cell battery and they last on average about 12 to 14 months mine is actually 2 tears saying that but you get the drift .. some are easy and you merely split the fob apart and replace the battery .. use rubber gloves they are prone to static from the human body.. others however are pains and they have to be taken to your dealer where he will probably try to sell you a new one at some ridiculous price .. some of them need reprogramming as they forget the code .. so it's one of those grey areas that dealers love .. trouble is you can go to the exspense of replacing the key only to find out that the fault is the car system after all .. So unfortunately again this is one of those situations that the dealership must be involved .. as most keys can only be aquired for the car from a recognized dealership .. they say its not a monopoly but a security reason.. so they have the capability to test your system before you go to the exspense of replacing a very exspensive key that you didn't really need .. hope this is of help .. regards Vortash ( [email protected] ) and this is how I know lol

SOURCE: how to program a keyless entry fob for 2005 gmc

Seating in the drivers seat , make sure all doors are closed.Insert key into ignition, don't turn on yet.
Wait for the dome light to go out, then press and hold the door unlock button , make sure it is UNLOCK, while turning the key ON OFF ON OFF Twice , do not engage the started, just on to the point of being on. Release the unlock button, and your doors should lock, then unlock indicating programming mode.At this point hold down both the lock and unlock button on the key fob. After 30 seconds your locks should lock and unlock, indicating the fob is programmed. This must be repeated for all remotes, whether or not it be new or old. After all remotes are programmed, turn the key off and on again to exit programming mode.

05 gmc envoy denali car was running replaced old batt now car wont start

Hey Stephen,,does the car turn over or is it completely dead?

If the engine, lights, horn don't work it your new battery.
Test or have tested, your new batteries charge and its performance
under load.

If the battery is okay and all the connections are tight and secure
and still no start..provide some more info on the no start vs no crank
question. Does the engine turn over?

Your owners manual might also provide some notes on changing the battery.

Gmc keyless entry

I would start by replacing the battery in the key fob remote that goes on your keychain. You can take it to most auto part stores and they will test/replace the battery in the device. It's a fairly cheap fix. If the device still isn't working after a new battery, then you will need to replace the fob. Some auto part stores like, AutoZone, will carry some of them but some you need to go to your local GMC dealer.

Does truck have keyless entry installed by factory

Write down the VIN# and take it to the dealer. They would be able to tell you if it did or didn't come with factory keyless entry.

My 2004, GMC Envoy would not start!

loose battery connection, or you left your lights or something else on then you got your jump. on the drive home the battery had a chance to charge enough to start up 10 hours later.

@005 Envoy Wont start when cold

If you can replace your own starter I would buy a new one and try it. Sounds like it could be a worn commutator and when cold the brushes do not make contact with the armature. Worn bushings will sometimes do the same thing. If you are mechanically inclined and have tools I would remove the starter and see if the shaft is loose in the bushing. If so you might try to find a replacement bushing and install it.

Gmc envoy remote key not working

Sounds like you need a new keyless entry box, but forst try resetting the computer, by taking the positive battery cable off for 10 mins.

If that does not work then seek geting the box for the keyless entry replaced.
