sound like torque converter or tranny oil pump problems. have tranny pressure tested.
SOURCE: f150 transmission neutralizes when shifts to overdrive
I have that exact same truck and transmission and My Transmission did the exact same thing about a year ago and there was some kind of snap ring inside the transmission that broke. I originally thought it had to be an electirical problem because the truck shifted fine until OD or if i turned OD off. The 4r70w is a light transmission and i would suggest you have a shift kit put in and they make a heavier kit to beef it up.. Sorry its probably not the new you were looking for.

P0733 Gear 3 Incorrect ratio
P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
Based on the experience i have with these codes at the Ford dealer I work at u are going to most likely need a transmission overhaul, it is slipping and the torque converter clutch is defective.

unfortunately this means you need to get yourself to a trusted transmission repair facility very quick. the torque convertor on your vehicle is not operating the way it should. this is going to be an expensive repair, i tell you this so your not suprised. but do your homework and find someone with a great reputation for their work. dont take your saab to just anyone. these cars can get really screwed up without the right people workin on it. the transmission will need to come out.

The Trans fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles or two years.
Changing any fluid on a vehicle is never a fix for anything, just preventative maintenance.
You should have done the Power Steering Fluid, Trans Fluid,Brake Fluid,Etc a couple of times, before getting to 80K.
Also I would hope you changed the spark plugs buy at least 60K.
You may have a TCC Solenoid going bad,but the engages the torque converter clutch.
Is it shifting into OD? Most likely you have a solenoid issue, but need to find out which one. Most fords have a solenoid pack in the trans, with all of them in one unit. Not sure on yours.
The only way it will be expensive, is if you go to a dealer or get pitched some story by a shop, not able to diagnose, what is most likely a simple fix.
