P1000 fault code is a misnomer because it is not really a fault code. When this code is flashed in your dash panel, it just shows that the reset cycle of your engine computer is not completed yet. Normally, if you are resetting the code, you would disconnect the battery (-) terminal for 1 minute and reconnect. However, on some engines like Ford, the previous code is not totally erased yet so that this P1000 code will show up.

2005 Ford Freester engine running but will not drive code P1000. what is the cause of this?

The P1000 code is telling you that the diagnostics scan on van was not completed after initial scan codes were cleared and/or battery was disconnected. You will need a new scan to help pinpoint the problem which seems to possibly be a transmission sensor issue. Hope this helps-please update

My car won't start and is showing a p1000 code . What does this mean?

P1000 is a manufacturer specific fault code:

Ford P1000: OBDII Monitor Testing Not Complete.
Jaguar P1000: Engine control module (ECM) - internal error.
Kia P1000: System diagnosis incomplete.
Land Rover P1000: Engine control module (ECM) memory erased - no codes stored.
Mazda P1000: OBDII Drive Cycle Malfunction.

So depending on the manufacturer of your car would depend on the meaning of a P1000 code!

Automatic transmission engages all gears but drive. Any ideas?

Check for fault code as it is possible a solenoid has failed.

Engine misses

Hi there:
This means testing incomplete and the car needs to be driven to clear this code. Really this isn't a hard code, the causes of a P1000 include:
  • The battery or PCM has been disconnected
  • The diagnostic trouble codes have been cleared
  • An OBD monitor concern occured before completion of the drive cycle

Although this may be considered a common Ford DTC, it's very minor. You in fact can safely ignore this code and it should go away as part of normal driving, you do not need to clear this code (as it may not actually turn off the MIL). If you want to the code to clear itself, faster, run through the Ford Drive Cycle. However, if you have other trouble codes, the MIL will stay on as there are other issues.

Hope this helps.

99 ford escort zx2 will turn over but not start p1000 code

P1000 just means drive cycle not complete for emissions testing.

Listen for your fuel pump to run, that might be the issue. If the engine sounds like it is turning over faster than normal, your timing belt is broken.

Super duty fault code p1000

P1000 OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete

This is NOT a fault code. It is an indicator code that simply means all the self-tests have not been run yet since the last computer reset.
It's primary practical effect is to keep vehicle owner's from cheating on emissions tests.

That means there are no codes set and there aren’t enough drive cycles yet completed since the last time the codes were cleared. Once enough drive cycles have been completed you will get system passed or a fault code.

Most likely you need to take a drive, 10 minutes at highway speeds and 20 minutes at city speeds, without turning off the engine. Also while driving at city speeds there has to be several periods of stop and go.

Fault code P1000 [18,2,10,0],Ford Fiesta 2005

P1000 means that you or someone has disconnected the battery, and the car has not been driven far / long enough for the computer to relearn its stratagies.
Engine light could be the fault of the speed sensor, or wiring to the sensor.

1997 FORD CODE P1000

a p1000 code means that the system has not run all checks since last memory erase. in other words after a code erase this code is set until the car has been driven for 2 drive cycles which is 20 to 25 miles then 20 to 25 miles again.
