SOURCE: How to replace the ignition coil
You can replace this yourself. do you have a code reader to figure out what cylinder is misfiring. Coils fail all the time. It is best to replace all at the same time. Because these coils fail so often this is the best plan of action. In order to get to the coils you must remove some stuff. Assuming you have the 3.0 liter engine. On the passenger side remove the airbox assy. On the drivers side remove the coolant resovior.
Don't unook the lines just take the phillips screw out and move out of the way. Next on each side there should be 2 torx t15 little ***** screws holding the coil wires. Remove these screws. Next get a screwdriver and carefully pry on the underside of coil to pry it up some. Do this to each. They are in there kinda tough so it will take some leverage. Once you have them moved up some unclip the connectors from the coils. Careful not to break the connectors. Once the connectors are loose just pull the coils up. Reassemble in reverse order.
