Question about Jaguar S-Type

1 Answer

2007 s type jaguar 2.7 diesel automatic. Since purchase I have returned the car to the dealership many times because of the hot crackling smell and noise from under the vehicle. It smells like brake binding but garage tell me this is normal due to the diesel particulate filter. IS THIS NORMAL OR IS THERE A SERIOUS PROBLEM?

This is not normal, am sorry to say.
it has nothing to do with the filter, and i don't think it's serious. If the car is holding it's self back? it will be the brakes.

Jaguar x type 2 litre diesel. how often should the glow plugs be changed?

Hi, glow plugs does not need changing unless the vehicle struggles to start in the morning or when cold. When testing the glow plugs, they should not take longer then about 5 seconds to become red hot.
