Yes you need to pull the manfold to replace the back three plugs. No you do not have to drain water or oil. Use a good double platum plug. While your there replace the three wires. You do not need any gaskets if your cearfull. Good luck

The rear three spark plugs are beneath the air intake surge tank. The surge tank needs to be removed. There's a lot of stuff connected to it, including the throttle body and EGR equip. on the back. There is a metal gasket between the surge tank and intake manifold. Best bet is to get a new gasket before re-installing, but if you don't damage it it may still be good to reuse.

No need to drain oil/coolant.

It's such a pain to do the rear three plugs that you really should spend the extra bucks and replace the ignition wires at the same time.

It should be located beside the brake caliper either on front or rear wheels (not sure about side but surely on both wheels) will look like a small tube pointing towards the hub.

Anti-freeze leaking from either the freeze plug or intake gasket. I need possible solutions. Tone Mac

Without knowing what year or engine size is, I/m just guessing??????? But the 3.1L engines are FAMOUS for intake maniflod gaskets leaking. Look where the intake bolts to the heads. A freeze plug is in the block. Freeze plugs dont leak unless you have been running pure water or weak/cheap anti-freeze. They will rust out from behind and its BIG BUCKS to replace them all.

How to change the plugs anda/c belts

I changed the spark-plugs on my Hyundai 2001 XG 300. I bought a membership on one of those websites that offers step-by-step guidelines but, turns out it was not that easy. I believe there is a lot of information in the repair guide but not the essential one. For an instance, the guide never explained that i need to take the whole air-intake plenum off to get to the rear side of the engine, because the spark plug are exactly underneth the plenum.Just to tell you how complicated looked, when i changed the spark plugs i did the three on the front first, not a problem, piece of cake i even remember the brand, they were champion 3 sparplugs , but when i change the rear ones ... TA TAA guess what? different brand, I'm speculating here, but to me is plain, the owner before me, took his top of the line car to an automotive service shop, you know, for a tune up, but these lazy guys decided not to trouble themselves and just change the easiest one. Because it really is hard. You need to unplug quite some connections so mark them out with spray paint, there is two or three harnesses and then take the plenum off but mark all the screws too. I do not have much time to meke a really good explanation but i just save you a lot of trouble. so get your hands dirty. Have fun.
