Question about 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
This could very well be caused by a bad fuel injector. I had this exact problem with my '96. I to thought of the coil because I had them replaced previously. But with further diagnostics it was determined that the no 3 injector was malfunctioning.

P0300 is for random miss-fire, loose or defective gas-cap, water in the fuel, damaged vacuum line, clogged fuel and/or air filter, faulty plugs and/or wires, fuel injectors. These are more common reasons, there are others but this a good start.
