Question about 2004 Pontiac Vibe
Noise started suddenly. Is heard both while running and with only power engaged.
Check the hose connected to the drain for the condensor. It's behind the passenger side carpet on the floor by the firewall. (pull the carpet back from the top. Then you will see the black rubber hose on the bottom) It just gets pushed back on. Passengers kick it off some times. The noise drove me NUTS till I found it. It makes a hissing noise while running, then a tin can noise when under power/acceleration.
Hope this helps!

Check the baffle door actuator motor. It's a bad design which uses stall current to sense when the door is open or closed. Problem is, it stresses a plastic secondary gear in the servo and can cause a couple teeth to break off. Now the gears skip (making the clicking sound) and the motor never stalls so computer never shuts it off and the clicking continues. It's an expensive part (of course) but I fixed mine by opening it up and reversing the secondary gear so that the bad section is never encountered in the 180 degree travel. To find it, take off the glove box and it'll be on the left side under there.
