Zafira radiator fan

Turning on the heat removes heat from the engine as it blows it on you. Make sure first that there are no air pockets in your cooling system as that can cause high temp reading and malfunctions in proper fan engagement. If that looks good test your fan, if it is working then test the fan relay, if it is working test the temperature sensor that gives the relay the go ahead to engage the fan.

How can u tell if a fan relays are bad

Hook the fan directly to car battery, if it works, try to hook the fan just before the relay, and if it works, test the relay by connecting a 12v current to the relay (to the connector that makes the relay conduct current, usually there is a diagram under the relay) if the fan spins while in place, the relay is good. Then it's a problem with the heat censor. If the fan doesn't spin in the first place, the fan is progen.

My car is overheating.and fan wont kick in.backfiring underhood

OK, if the fan won't work one may have to have the fans replaced, the relays, and the relay contacts depending on the severity of the problem.

I just spent $724 on repairs to my 1997 Cadillac Deville where the technician replaced the fan motors, the relays, and replaced the relay contacts at the harness due to burnt contacts there.

I was experiencing a passenger side (larger) fan that was working intermittently.

The technician discovered that the fans would work intermittently when the fan relays (3 of them) were shook.

I guess the heat got to them over the years.

Good luck on this repair.

Over heated , radiator fan not working

fan not working is one of three problems, the fan motor ,fan relay which is located in the front bumper under the passenger head light assembly,or a wiring problem. first check fuses then check voltage to the fan motor if no voltage check voltage to relay if relay has voltage to it replace relay and check fan motor again

AC/heating fans don't work

The relay center is under the hood, there should be several with the same #'s switch one that you know is working in place of the fan relay, if fans turn on replace relay. It is faster to turn on ac after switching relays for diagnostics as fan should run as long as ac is on...

does the second fan come on when the ac is on? If it does then that is how it's supposed to work. Could be that the radiator is obstructed (external or internal)
