The plastic knob on my Cleenette broke. Otherwise it works fine. I hae to use needlenose pliers to turn it on--not good for 72 year old hands! Can I get anew knob?

You did not post any info on what radio or where it is. If it is in a vehicle and you want to remove the knobs, it needs to be a unit that is at least 30 years old for that to work. With the units that are newer than that, there will be issues with pulling the knob off.
Without year make model it is hard to,offer advice. You may have a bad climate controler or a bad knob. The knobs just pull off and you can turn the control stud by hand or a small pair of pliers to see if there is any change. If no change once the control, stud is turned, the controller will be faulty
You will need a needle nose pliers. Find the cable where it broke away from the plastic handle. Grip it and pull towards you. If you cannot easily get it to move you may use a stiff board and prop it in place in the area near the pliers and then work the pliers against the board in a prying, lever action motion while gripping hard so it doesn't slip.
If I understand correctly, the same thing happened to me. It might just be the knob, if you can use pliers to rotate the metal piece where the knob connects then either buy a new knob or you could hot glue the old one in place. Just make sure you have it pointing in the right direction if you do.
buy some lithium grease in a pressure can $8 "never can have too much lube" there is a plastic epoxy 2 stage in a syringe that works well for plastic repairs $8. alternativly get a second hand one from a dismantler. Use pliers to turn the knob back and forth untill you can move it freely before fitting the knob. Spray the flap lever it is operating on the heater box too. Good luck
obtain a very large needlenosed plier and twist the lever as the cable would; if you can go through the grille opening with the plier.
these large 15 inch pliers are sold at Sears & Harbor Freight Tools
I have a 91 Honda Prelude, and I've had to replace the same type plastic knob probably 4 times over the years. Did you check a Toyota dealer? Honda still has mine in stock($10). Hopefully Toyota still stocks them. I just tell Honda the year, they have never asked for a part #. Must be a good money maker! If no luck at the dealer, how about a junk yard? countrycurt0
