1994 Toyota camry transmssion problems

Hello, i have a 1994 toyota camry 4 cylinder automatic, i bought the car with transmission problems, didnt go into reverse but was drivable forward except would have slips and pops from differential which was going out. I took transmission out and replaced it with one from pull a part out of a wrecked car, once installed the starter acted funny like it was having trouble turning it over but after a few times of trying it started. The car didnt go into any gear like it wasn't even connected to the transmission, the rpm's hardly change when switching gears and you can move the gear shifter freely. No noise or nothing. But it came out of a wrecked car so was working before crash, you would think, i decided to take it out and go back with another one, Unfortunately after all that work, the next one does exact the same thing. All fluids are where they need to be. I did notice after pulling the last one no tranny fluid came out of the torque converter, like it did when i took the original one out. No service light is on, probably because it hasn't been threw the drive cycle since it won't move. I have tried letting it run for 30 minutes though. Is there something simple i am missing that i havent connected or is there a trick to these cars. Prim the trannny fluid somehow? Solenoid? Any help would be appreciated before i take it back out and try another transmission, but would blow if i have same results!!! Please Help!!! Thanks

When you install a nother transmtion on you need to check the fluid on it befor getting it running and as about you did not see light in the dahsbord tells you about the lake of fluid this might be because you did not conect the sinsor wires and if the transmition is not level in where it sits it wil not work it have to be in a level angel with the engin, and all this have nothing to do with the starter to work or not

My '97 4 cylinder Toyota Camary automatic

Get a readout from the car's computer to see if there is a trouble code stored, which will give a good clue to the problem.

Camrys of this age often have a shift solenoid fail in the transmission, which will cause the symptoms you describe,

I just want to know the mpg for a 1994 toyota camry le 4 cylinder it has 214,000 but looks very good?????????????

If this is a car you own ... figure it out ... miles driven divided by gallons. Example ... drove 100 miles, then bought 10 gallons of gas to fill up the tank = 10 MPG This is an example ... not an estimate of the MPG of your vehicle.

Here is what I found when I googled your question:

I need to locate the filler cap on my 94 toyota camry 4 cylinder automatic

Your transmission is filled though the dip stick tube. You will need a very small funnel and pour slow or it will backup. And don't add too much, it doen't hold very much.
