Question about 2001 Saab 9-3
My 2000 93 convertibles top started acting funny recently. Had help it along as it open ie a gentle push as it lifts into the trunk. and now the switch to activate the top is totally dead. No warning beep if u press it or anything. is there a fuse or power relay i can check or just get a new switch.
What you describe sounds more like a worn out electic motor for the movement of the top. Most switches nowadays have very low voltage and amperage to them and the motor is actualy controlled by ground signals rather than a power feed. It is possible you will not light a test light at the switch, a digital multi meter set on 20 dc volts should show some voltage. You say you had to "help" the motor move the top, so I would start by checking the motor assembly for bad connections or failure.
