Purchasing an 02 CLK 320 Cabriolet. Dealer doesn't think rear seat folds down when I mentioned 2 red levers in trunk. Said just console for things like skis. Do all or some models have this feature?

If dealer said its not the rear seat release then you dont have the rear seat fold down and it is an option so if it s not there then vehicle didnt come with it --folding rear seats is an option not in every vehicle

Where exactly are the levers in the trunk of a

Open the trunk (UK: Boot). While looking at your rear speakers you will see there magnets sticking out of your rear deck lid (UK:Parcel shelf). In the middle of them will be 2 straps. These straps are what you pull to get the seats to fold down. give them a tug and the seats will go down, might be worth giving them a slight push if they havent' been folded down for a while.

How to get my 94 geo prizms back seats to fold down

old post but is a tricky feature, never posted here.

prizm = toy corolla.
so the operators guide is more easy to find.
4 0 million corolla's made, a world record.
and means facts on it not rare.
page 16 covers this, and has a special switch there,
to prevent what you are attempting.
per this drawing.

22020842-5jivdbcvwbjyt0yxwjt3tz1t-1-0.jpg "This system deactivates the lock release
lever so that things locked in the
trunk can be protected.
1. Push down the security lock levers
to lock the rear seatbacks.
On vehicles with built-in child restraint,
only the left seatback has a lock lever and
can be lowered. The right seatback cannot
be folded down.
After locking the rear seatbacks, try folding
them down to make sure they are securely
locked, otherwise, someone could
get into the trunk by folding down a rear
seat."

so if your car has this feature. and is ENABLED>
only locksmith can help you.
drive there and get it cured.
easy no?

now page 16b, with out this feature.

so we cant really answer, as we dont really know which car you have option wise. but i answered you, both ways.

Can't open trunk using the inside lever, key or button. Any suggerstions as got perishable food stuck in there. Thanks

If your Grand Am has the split rear folding seat, you can try folding the seat down but using a wire coat hanger. Try to snake the coat hanger through the split in the seat and hook the strap to pull it to be able to fold the seat down to gain access to the trunk. http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=17492&d=1121049659

As for the trunk being locked. Is it possible the remote lockout was activated? Try a yard stick to slide the red switch or just crawl in after you folded the seat down and removed all the food. If it's engaged, the remote solenoid will still activate (you can hear it), but the trunk won't open remotely.

Good luck and keep us posted. Thank you for using fixya

I can't into my trunk there is something stuck therefore i need to fold down my rear seats and move it but i don't know how to fold them down I trie but i got nowhere

Be sure that your model has fold down rear seats...you should see the seperation around both rear seats...if equipped, the fold down release is located at the top corner of each rear seat...pull the lever up to release...if your model does not have the fold down option...you will need to remove the rear seat...remove the lower cushions first...look on the lower front of the seats for hold down bolts...second you will need to remove the top of the rear seat...hold down bolts are at the bottom of the top cushion...after removing the bolts (one each side) you need to push up on the cushion to remove...this will then allow access to the trunk...find the trunk latch and try to release by twisting the latch cable...Hope this helps...

Do my back seats in my 1990 camry fold down?

is there a button on the top of the rear seat that you can push down on?if you don't see any, that means that your seats DO NOT fold down.just to make sure, open the trunk and look toward the rear seats and see if there are 2 levers(1 on the back of each seat) that say lock or unlock.these levers are used to lock the seats in place so they cant be opened from the inside of the car.if you dont see these levers, then you really DO NOT have fold down rear seats.hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

I went to open my 2005 Toyota Corolla trunk using my car key. When I rotated the key, the mechanism went 90 degrees CCW but the trunk remained locked. I tried the trunk release in the car but it wouldn't...

If you have rear seats that fold down you can access the latch mechanism from the left side rear seat....if you are flexible. pull the corner of the seat forward to allow your arm to slide in behind. about 14-16" in, feeling up inside the trunk you can feel 3 quarter size holes in the sheet metal. The second hole has the cable release arm. stick your finger up there are pull towards you. this will release the seat allowing it to fold down. Crawl into the trunk. there is a glow in the dark release handle on the inside of the trunk lid to open the trunk. Note, these are instructions for an '04 corolla but I think it should work

How do i put the top down manually on 98 900 saab

There's a red lever behind the rear passenger seat, fold down the rear seats to the trunk and you'll see it. Pull the lever down, and this should disengage the convertible motor. You should now be able to move the top up or down with some resistance against the hydraulic fluid left in the lines.
