Check the brake light switch. It should be located under the dash by the arm of the brake pedal. When you push the pedal down with your foot it activates the switch. The switch can be tested with an ohm meter or multimeter. If defective, it will need to be replaced. Hope this helped and good luck.

My 2002 Jeep Liberty reverse lights are not working,I put in new fuses and bulbs, what could be the problem?

Remove console shifter housing check connectors for good clean connection...If all are clean and connected apply emergency brake start vehicle and put in reverse...with voltmeter or a good test light check wiring at reverse light switch for power and or voltage...normally they will wear loose from normal shifting but if no power replace switch....If it seems like too much work involved you have to take to dealer where they will scan it and find it instantly....it could just be a bad ground at connection.

I have a 2002 jeep liberty sport and my brake lights are out. The 3rd brake light still works and I checked the fuse and its good. What else could it be? Please help !!!

change the bulbs in the two back tail lights they only cost around ten bucks and most higher quality oil changing stations can do it for you, if you do it yourself you take the light bessal off and with a screw or two and pop it out! Its fairly simple.. good luck
