Not normally

the fan motor has a resistor
that part give you the different speeds
they fail and can be replaced

location not far from the blower motor

Heater on my 2005 Chevy Impala LS was working then just stopped.... Can hear a motor under dash when changing from vent to floor to defrost

Does it work on any setting? Like 1 2 3 or 4?? If only works on say...4 then it's your resistor in the switch. Not bad easy fix. YouTube or Google it. You'll see

Why did my 2005 Ford fusion ac/heat fan just stopped blowing. It was working great and then I made a quick stop and when I got back into the car and started it the AC fan stopped blowing?

you probably blew a fuse that fan has its own fuse believe it or not. look under driver side dash or left side of dash for the fuze box the fuses should be labled

My 2000 Maxima GLE blower has stopped working. The a/c compressor comes on & runs but no air. I have run the temp switch above 80 to see if heater comes on but nothing. I do not find a fuse...

Check fuses 52 15A and 51 15A in the underhood fuse box. Check the Blower motor relay behind the right side of dash. Check the fan control amplifier (controls fan speed) behind right side of dash. Sound more like a blown fuse or bad blower motor relay

Trailer brake harness has no brake lights, and fuses are fine

you have to replace the flasher combination unit behind drivers side under dash fuse box. it is located on drivers side door well in the left side of the dash. to get to the module you will need to drop the underdash cover to access the back of the fuse box. You should see a black box. if you put on the hazard light you should hear where the clicking noise is coming from and that should make locating it easier. Once you locate it simply pry it off the box and insert new part. then presto you should have brake lights again. good luck

95 escort wagon, 118K miles - my heater fan stopped working the other day. checked the fuse box / diagram in the manual, it says that the blower fan takes a 30a fuse in position 15 (fuse box inside car);...

The dealership knows, but they won't tell you so you take it to them and they make the money doing the job!!

First of all, check that fuse. It may be blown. If so, replace it with a 30 amp fuse if that is what the owners manual or fuse panel states.

Now, about your problem, does your heater blow on low and high, but nothing inbetween? Or maybe even only on high, but none of the other settings? If so, it is your 'blower resistance module'. It is an electrical component located up under your dash board, possibly on the passengers side, up beside the fan blower itself. Find your fan vents where they come out the bottom of the dash and locate a black plastic box that resembles a relay. It will have a wiring harness attached to it, with about 4 or 5 wires. Take out the 4 - 1/4" or 5/16" bolts. Disconnect the harness.

The new one will probably have to be ordered in for you, around $30-$40. Try your local auto parts store or AutoZone.

My 1999 DeVille Concours A/C and heater fans don't come on.

open hood, look in main fuse box for blown fuses,or bad relays to heater fans. the a/c fan should come on only when you turn a/c on at the dash panel only. it has nothing to do with the heat. if the heater blower fans don't come on, then look in the main box[fuse] for a blown fuse also. otherwise the problem is in the heater control module.[where you turn on a/c and the heat] that panel has a different fuse location.under the dash drivers side or on panel on drivers door at the door jam[where the door shuts towards the front of car, under mirror, but inside] look for fuse panel there also for blown fuse. hope this helps, but if not, recommend you seek a pro.such as cadillac

Heater fan

There is another fuse box on the drivers side of the dash that can not be opened unless you open the drivers door because it is located on the end of the dash. The legend for which fuse is for what purpose is on the lid that comes off when you turn the lock mechanism counter clock wise. I found this while searching for the fuse for the 4wd
