I figured as much, but I was wondering if it might be something specific considering the strangeness of the fading and returning of the power. I replaced the clock itself so I know its not a problem in the clock itself.

Possible lose wire keeping it from getting a proper connection. thats about all i see possible since the car runs off the its own battery

from what it sounds like as i said it has to be the wires connected to the clock. if a current is not flowing properly threw then it most like will do what your saying fad in and out because the wire is connected but it flows it a way were its not getting the full path.

If you replaced your clock with brand new in the box units, I would discount the clock module as having the problem and look elsewhere in the wiring.
I you replaced the clock with a used unit, the chances are that you purchased a clock with a similar problem. If you want to make sure that your clock is not the problem, you can contact Dr.Clock at www.subaru-clock.com. He has repaired hundreds of digital clocks from older model vehicles, especially Subaru. He can test your unit and if there is no fault or repair needed, you will not be charged.

I have a 1992 subaru loyale that will not fire. it turns over, but won't start. Same thing with a 1989 subaru gl??????

Have you replaced the timing belts recently? The timing belts in these cars run both the cams and the distributor. If one comes off or breaks the engine wont do anything. The fix is not too bad if it is just the belt(s)

1992 subaru loyale will not come out of 4wd

Mine will have a delay when disengaging and "pop" really loudly. My dad discovered it would disengage much easier if I stopped the car, put it in reverse, and backed up a couple yards. Hope that helps!

1994 subaru loyale the mice have choked off the defrost vents.

i would say if you can axcess the blower fan. take it out and blow through the rest of the vents with compressed air starting with the one furthest away from the fan. you will need to have the key on and have someone constantly switching the vents to be used. cover your face. when you are all done, before you lock it up for the night spray a whole bottle a lysol to help sanitize your system and leave the windows cracked if weather permits. before you take it on a drive turn the system on for about a half hour on high so the smell isnt as strong as youre trying to warm up. happy holidays
