They are normally set on a timer to shut off after 1 minute. Sounds like the timer will need to be replaced or repaired by certified technicuan

The interior lights in my 2000 Ford F250 will not turn off. How can I get the lights to turn off?

Just to get the interior lights off to save your battery, you could pull the fuse. Refer to the service manual to determine the proper fuse.

To fix the problem, i would suspect one of the door switches is faulty.

Door light in dash stays on, interior lights don't work and auto locks wont engage.

hi ya it seems one of the door switches is broken or disengaged on each door frame you will find a push in switch witch operates the interior light, door warning light on dash and remote locking if one of them is not working it will show on dash as a door not closed it will prevent the interior light from working and also stop the auto locking system from working properly the locking system is connected to the interior lights
Hope yhis helps

Interior lights stay and alarm goes off every time i lock it

Your car thinks a door is open , thus the light stays on. When you lock the doors with the remote it activates the alarm system. 10 sec later it senses that the a door is open and alarm sounds.
I have a 99 passat as well and I just went outside to see where the switch on the door is. Can't see one anywhere , it must be inside the door (part of the latch mechanism). I tried to arm the alarm system by locking the doors with the remote while the door was still open , sure enough the alarm went off about 15 secs later.

Need to find a good repair shop and have them check the body computer for code's.The light's are turned off and on by the body computer.could be a faulty door switch but all those perimeter's are shown on the scanner.

Flat battery

Sounds like the timing unit which automatically turns off your dome lights after a few minutes is working backwards. Probably need a new unit.
