If you decide to purchase an extended warranty be very cautious and make sure you ask questions. I purchased one for about nine hundred dollars and six weeks later my car broke down on the road. After getting towed in and telling me my car computer had mal functioned and I needed a new one. I assumed it was covered so I told them to repair it. Six hundred dollars later I showed them my warranty and they said it was no good. Why?
There was a clause in there that anything to do electrical was not covered in small print of course. Computer is classified as an electrical item. My warranty covered Power Train only and they did not tell me that. Power train covers transmission - Motor and the wheel bearings stuff like that. I will never purchase one again as they wanted an extra amount of money for electrical items coverage.

My 2016 focus has been at Scarsdale ford for 2 months waiting for a transmission part on back order. Why so long? I want my warranty extended to cover this period. The car is 2016 not 1924 Really!?

Sorry but this make and model has various issues regarding the transmission, engine and resale value. There are many customer complaints and TSBs to list. Your transmission issue is common and Ford has run out of their stock. You need to wait for more parts to be created or request them to buy the car back. You may be able to get more than the cars value and buy another car from them. Did they supply you with a free loaner car? You mentioned something about the extended warranty. To the best of my knowledge Ford will not extend your extended warranty due to a delay in the repair process. Please write back if there is anything else. Good Luck.

What is The importance of Extended car warranty when purchasing a used car?

Peace of mind. I have had a used car examined by the Royal Auto Club before purchasing it, only to discover later that the engine had been rebuilt, that third party electronics for the doors were beyond fixing after three trips to a electronics specialty shop, and a persistent squeal was not going to be eliminated in the engine. This was before the car died. One would think that getting it okayed by a mechanic before hand would be some protection and you would be informed of any prior work on the vehicle. You can buy extended warranties from other than the dealer for less money. https://www.slideshare.net/amtwarranty/the-importance-of-extended-car-warranty-when-pruchasing-pre-owned-vehicle

Will be purchasing a new 2015 Elantra. Should I purchase an extended warranty?

I would ask hard questions on this one I paid almost a thousand dollars for an extended warranty on a used car and six weeks later I had to tow the car in. I showed them the warranty paper work and they answered oops it does not cover the computer and parts. It was running parts only like engine and tranny.

Hello: You should be ok making the purchase but I highly recommend purchasing the extended warranty for 100,000 miles. Best to buy the GM warranty. Run a car fax on it.

I have a 2007 Touareg V10 TDI with 49,500 miles on it. The factory warranty runs out at 50,000 miles. What are peoples experiences with this particular year and engine relative to whether it would be...

Hello,
There is no dispute to the fact that the volkswagen touareg is a very good SUV in terms of durability and comfort, and its a very good value for your money.I own a 2007 model of this car and believe me i have not had any regret for buying this car, after 2yrs.
What can be deduced from consumers discussion in their forum in relativity to the engine of the V10 is that its recommended to purchase an extended warranty to cover the next 50,000 miles for this SUV and it will really be a great value for your money, because some minor issues might come up in the nearest future with regards to the pluggs, this requires the expertise of qualified touareg engineers.

So i will suggest you buy an extended warranty to be on the safe side so you won't have any cause to regret in the nearest future.

Should i buy a extended warrenty on my 08 gmc? I have 23,711 miles on her?

what is your warranty, 3/36,000? It should still be under warranty, and you should be able to buy an extended warranty when you are close to your current factory warranty runs out-but if you maintain your vehicle with things like oil changes, never let it run low on gas, never allow it to overheat, and do routine maintenance like transmission services, antifreeze replacement, etc, extended warranties are rarely helpful-----------------but you know your car, and your ability to take care of it. Generally speaking, for the cost of what the give you, I think they are a waste of money.

Elantra purge valve under warranty?

Who did you buy your extended warranty through?... It may or may NOT be covered -- depends on your extended warranty agreement.
