Make sure you mount a good cut out switch between the battery and winch you can access in a hurry to save your truck. A big fuse is usually available from the winch co rated for that winch. If it all goes wrong you can isolate the winch. Cable is going to be stick welding cable size to get good power. Be careful how you route it. Its a big winch, use a professional mounting kit and good quality fasteners.

Remove carefully, engine being cold. Aluminum heads have fragile plug
threads. Replace with new plug winch should normally be pre-gaped at
.043 in (for Bosch Platinum plugs the gap is .032). Tighten snugly but
don't use too much force. (I used torque wrench at 15 ft/lb) Replace
coil module and reconnect wire and you are done.

most of them mount under that back rack although where ever you have the room is fine. It doesn't really matter where you mount it so as you have room for it.
