Serveral weeks ago my service engine light came on so I took my Endeavor to the dealer and they said it was randomly misfiring so I should replace the spark plugs. Since I was at 97,000 miles that seemed...

This code indicates that the catalytic converter is not working well enough. The dealer installed the plugs in hope that maybe the engine would run cleaner and not load the cat so much with new plugs installed. Bottom line, you need a new catalytic converter, but be sitting down when they give you the price. I would see if I could get warranty on this as it is mandatory in some areas.

Ford focus 1.6 zitec petrol, engine warning light flashing, engine chugging, very high fuel consumption, fumes smell when stationary, exhaust seems ok, recently change speed sensor and coil pack?

try the air filter first and the intake.the spark plugs then and after all go to a garage for checking compression timing and the head gasket.

AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT, NEW BEETLE 2004 GLS

Have a dealer service the airbag system as they have a shelf life and most likely that is causing it to trigger (alot like service lights on newer cars).

Vw beetle 2004 warning light, (engine with lightning bolt thru it)

That is the MIL(malfuntion IndicatorLight). You need to hook up a scan tool or code reader to find out what the car is trying to tell you. It would be nice if it had one built in, but you have to buy or borrow one from an auto parts dealer like auto zone. For VW's I would reccomend VAG scan tools, because they have the specific codes for all the systems, not just the engine like with OBD.
This will tell you what the problem is. It could be anything...one of the sensors is picking up something abnormal, and it needs to be fixed. The scan tool can also erase the fault code/ engine light(MIL).
The tool plugs into the cars computer, under the steering wheel there is a slot, sometimes with a cover on it. Plug it in and follow the simple directions.
Good Luck! After you get the code, you can post it here for more help.

2001 20 vw beetle engine managmemt light keeps comming on told it was misfire on no4 all new plugs light reset run for three days light back on HELP

Certainly the person telling you this had a scan tool but did not investigate thoroughly why it was misfiring and only suggested a bad plug in cyl #4. A bad plug is usually the case maybe from a mixed matched set of plugs. Having a distributor-less system some people miss to check the ignition coil pack. Technically you can't correct a problem by resetting it's warning indicator which some people think they have a red FIX button. In this case the engine management needed 3 start up cycles to verify if problem was fixed after erasing the DTC stored in the system, hence the 3 days. The ignition coil pack could be going bad or the individual ignition wire is. Is this an AEG engine code?
