Well if you mean you are pouring gas into the throttle body that is not going to do any good if it is the truck you have posted on your picture you first need to check if your fuel pump is working or even coming on

Fuel in filter and start pouring gas in carb, but won't stay running

Make and Model, year of vehicle?
I'm assuming the vehicle won't run unless you pour gas into the intake. If the vehicle will start and run while manually feeding gas to the engine, you can rule out spark and timing issues. Usual suspects in fuel system are dead fuel pump (electrical or mechanical?) clogged delivery system ( fuel line, filter, injector or jet) or intake leak (bad gasket or seal, vacuum leak, stuck valve). 25310438-za4bqvjhdrn3arnyccyp5xaz-5-0.jpg

Engine won't idle

How about if you step on the gas pedal. Will it stay running until you let off? If so check the IAC (idle control valve). Typically they get stuck in the bore in the throttle body. Remove it, clean it, and clean the bore in the throttle body with a good carb spray. Inspect the pintle to see if looks worn, if it does replace it. If it looks ok reinstall it and try to start. It may take a few cycles to clear the carb spray. You may have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start to clear the carb spray as well. If it idles fine after that your all set!

My 1968 chevy impala wont start unless i push gas pedal to the floor

it is your carburetor the fuel float is set to high and probably leaks. If it older than 10yrs old and has never been rebuilt . do that if you want to save yourself a bunch of time and little more money make the investment of a Brand New not rebuilt. if you get the carb manufactor specs matched to your motor , Out of the box, it will be very close to being on the money .

She almost starts, then dies.

No on the question about the starter being the cause.
You said you poured gas in - I assume you mean in the tank.
If it sounds like it wants to start we will assume the plugs are getting spark from the dist cap. If the pump is failing, you may not have enough fuel pressure.
I would either check fuel pressure or pour some fuel into the throttle body and try it. You could also use carb cleaner in a spray can.
You need to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem to proceed.

I have an issue with a 87 toyota pick up carburetor. Sometimes it doesnt want to start and sometimes it does a friend told me its that diaphram on the front of the carb with the 3 bolts but he could not...

Okay, your freind may be right, that part is called the accelerator pump, it is used for starting the truck, when you pump the gas to start it this pumps a few squirts of gas into the carb. what concerns me is that you hold the gas pedal to the floor to start it, most of the time an internal leaking carb floods the engine and holding the pedal down will let it start, a quick test would be to use a carb cleaner spray and before trying to start the truck hit the gas pedal and see if inside from the top of the carb look and see if you see a squirt of gas spray out, you will need some one to push the gas pedal or you can do it at the carb, if it squirts gas then the accelerator pump may be good and carb may be leaking and need rebuilding but if it doesnt squirt then its bad and then i want you to spray the carb cleaner into the carb and try to start the truck and if its due to the accel pump then after you spray into carb the truck should fire up and run without having to hold the pedal to the floor, if thats the case then replace accel pump if it still doesnt fire until you hold gas down then crab needs rebuilding . good day. hope this is helpful.
