Question about 2002 Suzuki Vitara

Dash lights, shifter light, radio light and headlights don't work

My dash lights, shifter light, radio light and headlights don't work. Thinking it could be a fuse. Not sure yet though. Have not looked into it. Which fuse would be common for these lights? Or do you have any other recommendations?

Got to check out this girls car today. When I went out to look at it, I noticed that the front bumper cover was missing. The 2 marker light plugs from the cover were hanging down. The one on the drivers side was actually hanging down so far that it was rubbing on the tire when she drove. It rubbed the insulation off the wires and wound them together so it was creating a short. The fuse blew every time she turned her lights on. Go figure. She doesn't have the money to get the cover installed again so I moved the wires up out of the way and separated the bare ones with electrical tape. Put a new fuse in and wouldn't you know it, they worked. Thanks for the help. Another problem solved. Some kids these days?

1994 dodge dakota my headlights and tail lights and brake lights don't work my abs and parking brake lights are on my dash lights don't work either I replaced the headlight switch and still no

These are all different circuits. The brake lights are on a 10amp fuse - the headlights are on a 50amp fuse - and the parking and dash lights are on a 20amp fuse.
Do you have power going into the headlight switch and the brake light switch ?

Dash and radio lights don't work at night. They are on during the day. 2003 Chev Impala. Have checked all the fuses.

The same thing happens on my 2003 Impala. I found that my dimmer switch has an intermittent failure where sometimes the dash lights go out even with the headlights on.
If I wiggle the dimmer just right, the dash, radio, steering wheel, door locks, and every other light comes on (when the headlights are on). My fix was to mount my Garmin on the steering column in front of the speedometer so when the lights go out I know how fast I'm going. A replacement dimmer (or bypassing the current one and adding a resistor) should take care of it.

How do I test the dimmer switch on my 1987 chevy chevrolet nova? And if it's broken, how do I replace it? Asking because my dashboard lights don't come on even though all the fuses seem to be...

Dash lights are routed and controlled by the headlight switch. Dimmer switch should not affect the dash lights. You cannot test either switch, but if not working right, just try a replacement.

My headlights , taillights, interior lights, and radio wont come on. I checked all the fuse's under dash. Cant seem to find a fuse for the headlights though?

Welcome to Fixya

That fuse will be under the driver's side dash. Look for the fusebox there. Your owners manual will show the location of the fuse. If you don't have the manual look for a fuse marked "headlights" or something similar or pull them one by one checking to see if they are burned out.
Thank you for sing FIxya!

I have a 1996 Saab 900 when I start the car and turn on the head lights the dash lights will turn on and then go out. Along with the dash lights, the radio lights and the lights along the shifter...

It could be a bad connection or a bad headlight switch, but there is also a safety switch on the car that turns the dash lights out when you lose your tail lights, so before you go any further check if your tail lights are working, your car may just be telling you about another problem.

'97 Malibu, dash lights don't work

Check your fuses. The dash lights are on a different fuse. Also check dimmer switch. If its not one, then it is the other. Try working dimmer switch quickly back and forth( with the lights on when it's dark so you can see if they come on).
