If it's a noise you are hearing, then most likely it's the front sway bar links. They are the most common for noises over bumps.

Thanks Jay!

You need to change your STRUTS, depending on your Springs, you may need to change them too if you want a Smoother Ride

My back wheel when it hit a pot hole or any other bump in the street it bounce or not enough bounce to it ...the struts are ok an suspension is ok I was told so whats goin on..can u help me

I not sure if I fully understand your question. Are you asking should your car be bouncing more when you hit a bump or pot hole?

Well this is how struts and shocks are suppose to work: Struts and shocks are suppose to assist in providing a smooth ride, when you hit a bump or pot hole the struts and shocks absorb the force so you won't feel the full impact when driving. A good set of struts and shocks will eliminate excessive bouncing when driving or when you come across bumps and other mishaps in the road. So inconclusion if your car is not doing a whole lot of bouncing when you are driving that is a good thing, because that means your struts and shocks are doing their job and that means there is nothing wrong with them.

When i hit a bump it feels like it bottoms out . Do i need new shocks, shruts?? It just really smacks hard if I go over a bump or pot hole.

You could only need the Bump Stops that are rubber and prevent the shocks from hitting the chassis.

OR you may need shocks

OR just the strut bearing at the top of the strut if the struts are not leaking.

Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

When driving over any size bump, back of car really sounds loud and doesn't hit road again very gracefully. I have been told it is the "strutz". How can I be sure & what is the fair price for that...

Most likely you need to replace the front suspension strut cartridges, this will run about $300-$400, u will also need a front end alignment which will add about another $100 to the job. Shop around fopr the best price, use Monroe brand struts, they are good quality and priced lower than factory parts

Front shocks feel like they bottom out when you hit bumps

the car is 6 years old.average driving means 150000km.that is about the life expectancy of the struts.have them check the front suspension....tie rod ends ,ball joints upeer and lower control arm bushings can all generate noises and bangs..

Clunking and knocking noise from rear when hitting bumps.

-it could be the sawy bar linkages
-but also check to see if the struts are leaking or that it looks damp
-but because you said it doesn't look like it bouncing when you hit a dip most likely it could be that the struts are dead
-check to see the cars ride hieght that would give you a clue
