Question about 2000 GMC Jimmy
I was towing a 5x8 trailer with my Jimmy at about 55 mph and read in the manual I should put it into 3rd gear. After about 100 miles, I need to exit to another interstate and all the dash lights flashed. I put the car into overdrive and the lights didn't flash again. Nothing looked as if it overheated and the battery was fine. When I stopped and turned off the Jimmy, there was a clicking for about 10 seconds under the glove compartment. The car won't lock and when I tried to restart the car, it won't start and I can't get the keys out of the ignition. I can't even get the car out of park. Any ideas. Is it really bad? :(
Is your battery charged if so!!! I would look for the speed control box it is located under the glove box. It is a little white box with a lot of wires in it. this box is with the computer but there are separate box's. It controls everything from shifting to starting to the gauges in your dash You DO NOT have to replace the computer Good Luck
