Could be low refrigerant charge. When pressure is low a pressure switch opens keeping the compressor from running.

They have a safety pressure valve that shuts your compressor off when low on freon so you wont ruin it

AC compressor clutch wont engage

Compressor will not run if freon charge low. If you want it to run supply direct power and ground to back of compressor. I do not recommend a home recharge as you will not be able to evacuate the moisture in the system and inject adequate amounts of oil

How do you connect the cooling fan condenser to a

use a double connection at the connection for the ac clutch and run the extra wire to the fan connect the earth wire directly to a metal body/engine point. This will allow the fan to start when the ac is switched on and run while there is power to the ac compressor

2011 nisian verda ac wont run

1st is the proper freeon installed as well the vacuum done properly sometimes replacing parts cause dirt to go through the lines and plug up the system so if all was done properly and the ac was working before ! then the ac clutch is not responding so check all fuses in box easy to do then when the ac engaged check the connection at ac compressor to see if its getting power but you have to be sure that the ac system is charged properly if not it wont work

Engine turns off when I put ac on

Apparently someone has wired them direct to a power source or the relay has gone bad allowing a direct connect of power with or without the ignition on, Check the relay first, also see if someone has wired the fans to direct power source

1996 Dodge Dakota 2.5 , AC runs fine if I connect compressor directly from battery, is there a way to test the AC switch?

if the compressor only works when directly feed power from the battery it sounds like the a/c system may be low on freon causing the system to shut down until its fixed.it could also be a pressure switch in the system,it should be checked out at a shop for proper freon level and pressure to know what needs repair instead of guessing.

How do I make the AC compressor turn on to fill the freon when it is empty?

Find the low pressure switch and unplug it and take a wire and connect both wires together tying the circuit together this should automatically turn the compressor on. Make sure the switches inside are on high maximum blow and A/c switch is on. You could also run a wire fused directly to the wire going to the head of the compressor. Usually once you start putting freon in as long as everything is working perfectly it should automatically kick in with jumping it over or putting direct power to it.

Air compressor not engage was blowing cold just quit while running check fuse all show good check freon all good no broken hoses compressor wont kick in getting fire ti presser switch

the clutch on the air compressor coil is proably burnt out. disconnect electrical plug at end of air compressor and supply current direct from battery to see if clutch engages, if it does not, change thecoil clutch switch.

Volkswagen passat 96 AC relay location

You should never connect a 12volt to the compressor solenoid.unless you unplug it first, because on some cars the ac solenoid is driven by an electronic circuit. Semiconductors are very sensitive to excessive current. I once had to repair the computer on a mercedes because the other mechanic did that. Luckily I know how to repair electronic circuits, or they would have bought a 500 dollars computer the little chip that blew only costed a dollar fifty cents at radio shack,.LOL. Anyways back to your problem, Have you checked if there is a leak, and all the refrigerant might have leaked out? This would prevent the compressor from coming on. Along the ac line there is a switch, sometimes by the reciever drier, when the system looses refrigerant the pressure inside drops and that pressure switch disable the compressor. , and the compressor wont come on. This is to protect the compressor, because it will be damaged if you run it without refrigerant. Ac clutch solenoid is usually is not driven by relay, because an ac solenoid don't really take much current to to kick in, unless of course it is shorted. It would either be directly from the inside switch usually in series with the fan control or driven by a small transistor in a circuit, and the electronic circuit is driven by the ac controls inside. I think the problem with your ac is that it has no refrigerant thats why the compressor wont come on.
