Suggest purchasing a Haynes manual which will have the step by step instructions. It is too complicated to post on FixYa. Alternatively you can sign up for a free account at Autozone and they have some manuals available online for free. They are not as good as a Haynes manual.

Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
Place a drain pan under the transmission oil pan.
Remove the oil pan drain plug.
Remove the oil pan bolts.
Remove the oil pan.
Remove the gasket.
Remove the magnet.
Remove the oil filter.
Remove the filter neck seal.
The transmission oil pan gasket is reusable. Inspect the gasket and replace as needed.
Clean the transmission case and the oil pan gasket surfaces with solvent.
Install the filter neck seal.
Install the oil filter.
Install the oil pan gasket to the pan.
Install the magnet into the bottom of the pan.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the oil pan to the transmission with seventeen bolts.
Tighten the oil pan bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.) .
Apply a small amount of sealant GM P/N 12346004 to the treads of the drain plug.
Install the oil pan drain plug.
Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) .
Install Dextron Automatic Transmission Fluid.
Lower the vehicle.
Step 1
Loosen the bolt on the negative battery cable and slide the connector off of the battery. The battery is on the right side of the engine compartment. The negative battery cable is black.
Step 2
Jack up the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. If you cannot raise the car, remove the air filter box, battery and battery tray. These are all on the right side of the engine, connected by bolts.
Step 3
Locate the vehicle speed sensor. It is on top of the transaxle, near an inner CV joint. If your Neon has a manual transmission, the plug will be oval-shaped with three wires and connected with a bolt. Automatic transmissions will have a round plug and sensor. Use the replacement sensor as a reference while searching for the sensor.
Step 4
Disconnect the sensor. For manual transmissions, squeeze the tab on the electrical connector and pull. Unscrew the bolt holding the sensor to the transmission. The plug on automatic transmissions is held in place with a locking tab underneath the connector. Pry it open and pull off the connector. Unscrew the sensor from the transmission.
Step 5
Install the replacement vehicle speed sensor and reconnect the cable.
Step 6
Remove the air filter box and throttle body if your Neon has an automatic transmission. A second vehicle speed sensor is located on the transmission below the throttle body. It is connected in the same way as the other sensor and can be found behind two rubber hoses on the transmission housing. Replace it the same way you replaced the other sensor.
Step 7
Lower the car and replace any parts you removed to access the sensors.
Step 2
Open the hood and locate the (CKP) sensor to the left (driver side) of the transmission bell housing, where it meets the rear of the engine block. If necessary, shift the transmission to neutral (N), raise the front of your vehicle using a floor jack and safely support it on two jack stands. Chock the rear wheels.
Step 3
Locate the CKP sensor pigtail connector to the right (passenger side) of the transmission bell housing. Unplug the CKP electrical connector.
Step 4
Thoroughly clean the area around the crankshaft sensor using a soft brush and a shop rag.
Step 5
Note whether the CKP sensor on your Jeep model is mounted with one bolt, two bolts or two nuts. If there is only one bolt, make a note of the exact sensor position, since it is adjustable and you will need to reinstall it in the same position.
Step 6
Unscrew the sensor mounting bolt(s) or nuts using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket of the appropriate size. If your Jeep model uses two mounting bolts, use the same bolts during the installation process. These bolts have been machined to provide the correct space between the crankshaft sensor and the flywheel. If you use bolts with a different configuration, your vehicle may not start or operate properly.
Step 7
Remove the crankshaft sensor from your vehicle.
Installing the Crankshaft Sensor
Step 1
Thoroughly clean the sensor-mounting surface on the transmission bell housing using a soft brush and a shop rag.
Step 2
Clean the mounting bolt(s) or nuts using the soft brush and shop rag.
Step 3
Check the new crankshaft sensor and make sure it has a piece of paper (spacer) glued to the bottom. This spacer serves as an electrical ground. Using the CKP sensor without the spacer will break the unit the first time you try to start the engine. If necessary, you may buy the spacer through your local auto parts store or dealership parts department. Ask for part number PN05252229.
Step 4
Install the new CKP sensor into the transmission bell housing mounting hole.
Step 5
Start the two bolts or nuts by hand and then tighten them to 9-feet lb. (12 Nm) using a torque wrench, ratchet extension and socket. If your model has only one mounting bolt, push the new sensor against the flywheel and then tighten the bolt to 60-inches lb. (7 Nm) using a torque wrench, ratchet extension and socket.
Step 6
Plug the CKP sensor electrical connector.
Step 7
Lower your Jeep if you had to raise it. Remove the chocks from the rear wheels.
It would take way to long to tell you a step by step procedure in here.
You can get a haynes auto repair manual for that car, it gives a step by step procedure on most major removal and installation jobs. Most auto parts stores stock them, about $17.00.
Solenoid mounts outside the transmission, so you do not need to remove the transmission to install. It should be located between fuse box and air filter housing on the top of transaxle case and right next to transmission controle module.
I hope his step by step procedure will work for you. It is not hard at all to replace the solenoid. There are three 10mm bolts. You will also need to remove the input speed sensor. One thing to look out for is not bending the gasket when installing the new solenoid:
Disconnect battery negative cable.
Remove air cleaner assembly.
Remove electrical connectors for transmission control module (please refer the manual I send you and autozone.com website).
Remove the Transmission Control Module
Disconnect and remove the input speed sensor
Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines. Cap off hoses and fittings to prevent foreign matter intrusion.
Disconnect the solenoid/pressure switch assembly connector.
Remove the three solenoid/pressure switch assembly-to-transaxle case bolts
Remove solenoid/pressure switch assembly and gasket
Keep everything clean to prevent foreign materials to go inside
Install solenoid/pressure switch assembly to case using a new gasket
Install bolts and torque to 13 N·m (110 in. lbs.)
Install 8-way connector and torque screw to 4 N·m (35 in. lbs.)
Uncap and install transmission oil cooler lines.
Install input speed sensor and torque to 27 N·m (20 ft. lbs.)
Install Transmission Control Module
Install air cleaner assembly.
Connect battery negative cable.
