SOURCE: The anti theft sensor on the steering colum needs

The sensor is part of the ignition key lock cylinder, so the part and labor will be around $200-$300 depends on your local labor rate, the dealer must do this repair because the new lock cylinder key code must be programmed into the VATS module.

SOURCE: The steering wheel won't lock

You have some sticking pins in the lock cylinder GM is know for this, so the key won't turn, you can try spraying some Graphite not WD-40 and work your key might looesen up, if not call a mobile lock smith to repair the pins in your lock cylinder.

You need a lock plate removal tool, napa sells them ,they are cheap, and the pin in the key cylinder? Use a punch to destroy the pin.

My 2005 buick rendezvous has been attempted to be stolen cant start it with key

if they tried to pull the wheel lock located in the steering colum. they may have damaged the key sensor that read you security codes off the key. which means you`ll need to replace the key sensor in the colum. Unless they pulled a wire off under the steering colum. look down the steering colum and up underneath and see if there are any plugs out. PS some cars are designed of extra accessories which case you may find a few plugs away from the colum that aren`t connected to any thing these won`t be the issue but.

On my org. steering colum the blue wire that runs frome the shaft of the colum onto the white sircet panel. so i replaced the whole colum and now starting disable. 98 deville. what should i do?

If you are using the key and switch that was in replacement column, the resistance of the key pellet for your car is wrong. Provided you connected everything up then the easiest way would be to take your old key (out of old part) and the key from your replacement column to a Cadillac dealer. They can read the resistance of your old key and cut you a new key with the proper resistor. That should start your car.
