I think the Chiltons book has the best info for changing the alternator. but they don not tell you how to roll the unit out. I have found that you need to roll it to the back of the car before you try to get it out, then flip it while it is back then you can roll it forward, and out. You have to like the puzzles made fron wire that you have to twist anound to get apart !!

I am not sure about your car, but often the blower motor is accessable from the firewall on the passenger side.

Where is the blower motor relay on a 2003 Pontiac grand prix

It is tucked up behind the passenger's side of the dash near the firewall on the hvac housing. Labor time to replace is 0.7 hours. You will need to remove the right side lower trim/silencer panel to access it. Although the directions do not call for it, you will find pulling the carpet back where it meets the firewall near the resistor will give you a little more room to get a socket on the rear resistor bolt.

Blower moter only work on high

Very common problem. You most likely need to replace your blower motor resistor. It is located in the A/C-heater housing near the blower motor assembly.

1988 camaro iroc z 350 tune port injected. need to reset timing on the computer. jodie

To set the ignition timing you will need to disconnect the electronic timing control. It is usually a dark brown and black wire located on the passenger side foot well where the carpet meets the firewall. Once the wire is disconnected, loosen the distributor and set the timing with a timing light. If you have an automatic transmission, I think the timing is 6deg BTDC. Tighten the distributor down and connect the ETC wire.

Alternater

If this car has the 2.5 24 dohc motor..Good Luck...Im not trying to be mean but there is a major task to remove this altenator from the car. The engineers at Ford thought of everything..except where do they put the altenator. Oh well we'll put it underneath the car, we wont have to fix it..ha ha.. Before you try to remove the Alt. Check the MAXI FUSE which is inline on the altenator wire to the battery. This fuse is located under the coil pak. Remove the 4 screws and lift the coil pack off. Look down the firewall about 8 " below the coils and there is a black box with red wires coming from opposite ends. One is from altenator, other is from battery. Inside the box is the fuse. Check continuity of the wires on each end the box. If there is continuity the fuse is ok and altenator is shot, if no continuity , the fuse is no good and you may not have to remove the altenator. ( but fuse blew for reason). If you need more info post again.

1999 ford windstar altenator

there is a tensioner on the belt... it's a pulley near the back by the firewall that doesn't appear to drive anything. you will note a square hole in the side of it... that fits a 3/8 in ratchet.... use a long pry bar with that socket type ... on mine you have to pull it down i believe to remove tension... try it to make sure which direction it has to move.

How do i remove the altenator for a 1998 Mercury Mystic 4 cyl

the other guys i right, how ever it is not that simple....

the dog bone is the funny looking metal and rubber mount on the top center of the motor, it attaches to the frame in the front near the hood latch. you have to have the car on a front incline for the motor to tilt, or have some one push the back of the car forward so the engine will tilt forward. you should then beable to slide the bolt out.
