Where was the 10amp fuse? Did you check the fuse behind the radio unit?

SOURCE: Radio code for Honda CRV 1999

If the radio has not been changed in the past, then I am almost certain that your local Honda dealaship can help but as always they may charge you. There are auto centres that are equipt to change the radio code and they do charge.

Car cranks but will not start

first thing take the 120 amp fuse out and throw it away
the 100 amp fuse was installed originally to protect the wiring and other related parts
next by connecting to the wrong terminals there is a power surge that can damage the electronics in the ECM unit and alternator
removing a battery for a charge can corrupt the immobiliser system
I would suggest that you use a scanner to read any fault codes that may be stopping the engine and then reset the CPU program in the ECM to reset the immobiliser

Honda crv stereo no power

Fuse may be good but if the fuse itself is not receiving power then you can pound salt. Get a schematic and trace out the source of power to fuse and you will affect a repair.

Check to see if alternator is charging. Battery light is an indicator that your alternator is not charging. Start engine use multimeter at battery 20 v dc or if autorange meter just dc. engine at idle the battery should read 14 - 14.5 volts. if not replace alternator.

My battery died and my radio locked up. I have the radios seriel # but now I need an unlock code for my Honda CRV radio (2005) How can I get one for free or real cheap?

Look in your glove box. There should be a small sticker on the inside of the door near the left side. You will see two sets of numbers. The number set with 5 digits is your rest code. Cheap enough?

Positive feed back appreciated.

I have a 1998 honda crv and the radio show err 3. the dealer gave me the 5 digit code to type in after i turn on the radio and it doesn't seem to work.

Check the fuses first. IF the fuses are good check the power TO the radio. There is sometimes a fuse within the positive lead to the radio, . If that fuse is good, try to provide a seperate power source to the radio to power it up. e.g. a battery charger on 4-6 amps is a good way to get power to the system. NEVER power the computer with an outside power source, as the amps will destroy it. The problem COULD also be the computer, although this problem is rare, it CAN happen.

Error 7 on 2005 Honda CRV Radio

I had the same issue with the radio code error lock on a 2005 CRV. I was unaware of the code procedure and had locked the radio in the "ERROR E" mode. I was able to unlock the radio by pulling the #9 back up fuse located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. This reset the radio to CODE which then allowed me to input the 5 digit number which I had in my glove box along with my owner's manual. I am happy to report I now have a working radio/ CD player.
