there is a cable which comes from the transmission and goes back into the speedometer try pressing both ends if it does not work it means your cable is broken get a new cable
For the stalling issue, the throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. The dead speedometer could be a bad stepper motor in the instrument cluster or a bad speed sensor on the transmission. If the cruise control is not working, the problem is most likely the speed sensor.

Changing tires to another size than what was originally sent on the vehicle can change the accuratcy of the speedometer. To fix this requires changing the gear where the speedometer enters the transmission. The gears you change are probably a dealer item and they could tell you which one you need.
Search for the engine model ECOTec 2.2 rather then Malibu. It is very easy to replace the plugs, they are DEEP inside the engine so you will need a 6" socket extension for the spark plug socket. Needle nose pliers were required to retrieve the socket on the first plug. Don't push down hard on the plug, just enough to engage the nut.
