Bank 1 is the side that your #1 cylinder is on and Sensor 2 is the down stream sensor. If I remember correctly, your car only has 3 sensors, so it is the one after the catalytic converter. If you do have 4, it is the one after the bank #1 cat.
To access Bank 1 Sensor 1 you need to know what it means. Some of what I write you may already know. Every engine that has one cylinder head has one bank. Every engine that has two cylinder heads has two banks. Bank 1 always contains cyl. 1. On this engine, Bank 1 contains cylinders 1-3-5 and Bank 2 contains cylinders 2-4-6. Now lets talk about sensor 1. Each cylinder head has its own catalytic converter and each catalytic convertor has two 02 sensors. The Upsteam 02 sensor is Sensor 1 (the sensor before the CAT). The Downstream 02 sensor is Sensor 2 (sensor after the CAT). You are looking for the Upsteam 02 sensor on bank 1. I'm also proving a video that is similar to what you are working on and will need to do, to access that 02 sensor. Any questions, please write back. Good Luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAMbYw6NfMU
On V engines one of the cylinder heads is located further forward than the other. That is the side that has cylinder #1 on it. That is bank 1. The other side is bank 2. There are 2 oxygen sensors-one in front of the cat convertor and one behind it. Sensor 2 is behind the convertor. It looks kind of like a spark plug with wires coming out the top
You will have a total of 4 O2 sensors, two on the left (driver's side-Bank 1) and two on the right (passenger side - Bank 2). Sensor 1 is before cat. convertor and sensor 2 after cat. converter. Hope this helps.
Bank 1 02 is on the exhaust side that cylinder 1 is on bank 2 would be the other there should be bank 1 sensor one and bank 1 sensor 2 and on the other side it is bank 2 sensor 1 and sensor 2 with that in mind get a firing order from a auto part store bank 2 should be on the driver side sensor 1 is before the cat sensor 2 after the catalytic convertor
Look for the ferist 02 sensor to the front that is bank 1 sensor 1 the next closest is bank 2 sensor 1 But this could be the O2 sensor it self thats bad If the convertor were bad it would likely be restricted from proper flow so i would check the sensor before i went out and bought a new cataylic convertor
sensor two is behind the convertors if you have a four cyl its the only sensor behind cat if its a 6 cyl then the side of engine closest to firewall is bank2
You have a V6 engine, bank one is the row of cylinders on the passenger (right) side, bank two is the row of cylinders on the drivers side (left). Your codes indicate an inefficiency in the cat on the left side but this could be due to a bad O2 sensor or an engine that is out of tune and overloading the cat. This car seems too new to have a bad cat. I would change the plugs and the O2 sensor after the cat before going any further. The reason I say the O2 after the cat, it's the one that is critical in sensing cat efficiency. What is the mileage?
