Reset low pressure light on 05 Nissan titan

There is no reset procedure (unless you have a scan tool).

1) If low pressure, add air, then the computer will reset itself after a brief drive.
2) Very cold weather will cause a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) fault because the low temperature causes a reduction in tire pressure. For now, running about 5 psi over your normal should help and will not cause any tire issues.
Again, after driving they should automatically reset.

Finally, if none of the above works, then it is possible you have a bad tire sensor, or the batteries have failed. After all, if factory, they are now 13 years old and could be failing.

Most tire places will now try to sell you new TPMS monitors when replacing tires. It's not always necessary, but never a bad idea.

I hope this helps.

2001 oldsmobile aurora

Not sure what "exp 18" means...but the Low Tire Pressure or tire pressure monitoring on the Aurora is done via the wheel speed sensors. Anytime you fill or add air to the tire you will need to reset the tire pressure monitoring - not just the current indicator, but go to gage->tire pressure and reset.
If any of the wheel speed sensors are having issue, this can effect the reporting to the tire pressure monitoring. If you have an ODB-II scanner that can read ABS codes this is very helpful as it will tell you exactly which sensors are having problems.

TIRE MON (Tire Inflation Monitor Reset)
This feature allows you to reset the tire pressure monitor after checking all tire pressures. To clear the LOW TIRE PRESSURE light from the instrument panel cluster and reset the low tire pressure monitor do the following:

1. Scroll, using the SEEK/PSCAN up or down arrows, until TIRE MON appears on the display.
2. Press the PREV or NEXT button to enter the submenu. RESET will be displayed.
3. Press the TUNE/DISP button to reset. A chime will be heard to verify the new setting and DONE will be displayed for one second.

The low tire pressure monitor is now reset.

Hello Mattingly.

Here is some information for you regarding your problem.

The Tire Inflation Monitor (TIM) system alerts the driver when the pressure changes in one of the tires. The system only detects a low pressure condition while the vehicle is being driven. Once a low tire pressure condition is detected, the system informs the driver that a low tire pressure condition exist's, whenever the ignition is ON.
The LOW TIRE message appears on the Instrument panel if the tire pressure in one tire becomes at least 82 kPa (12 psi) lower or higher than the other three tires. The message does not appear if more than one tire is low or high, or if the system is not calibrated properly. The system does not inform the driver which tire is low. To clear this message, set the tire pressures in all four tires to the proper pressures and perform the system reset procedure. Refer to Tire Inflation Monitor Reset Procedure for service procedure.
The Tire Inflation Monitor software requires approximately one half hour of straight line driving to complete the TIM autolearn. There are several speed ranges that the EBCM needs to learn the tire inflation configuration in order to have the full capability of detecting a low tire condition. The speed detection ranges are the following:

  • 24-64 km/h (15-40 mph)
  • 64-113 km/h (40-70 mph)
  • 113-145 km/h (70-90 mph)
Each speed range has 2 modes of low tire detection.

  • Monitor Mode 1
  • Monitor Mode 2 The EBCM learns the tire inflation configuration for each speed range independently. In Monitor Mode 1, the EBCM has only partially learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has limited detection capability for a low tire condition. In Monitor Mode 2, the EBCM has fully learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has full detection capability for a low tire condition. If the EBCM is not in Monitor Mode 1 or Monitor Mode 2, a low tire condition cannot be detected because the EBCM has not learned the tire inflation configuration of the vehicle.

To reset (calibrate) the system:
Turn the ignition switch to RUN. Then press and hold the RESET button for about five seconds. The red RESET button is located inside the instrument panel fuse block on the right side of the dash.. The LOW TIRE light will come on and flash three times and then it will turn off.
The system completes the calibration process during driving.
The system normally takes 15 to 20 minutes of driving in each of three speed ranges to "learn" tire pressures. The speed rages are 15 to 40 mph (25 to 65 km/h), 40 to 65 mph (65 to 105 km/h) and above 65 mph (105 km/h).

There you are, this should fix you up.
Keep in mind this system uses wheel speed sensors to calculate. If one of your sensors isn't working your low tire light will remain on.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Changed right front tire now reads zero on dash light is on

Your tire pressure monitor needs to be reset whenever you change or rotate your tires...

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (think the switch is in the glovebox, but not sure) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.
