Question about 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD

1 Answer

Will the vaccum hose attatched to the transmission of my 1997 truck cause it not to start if not attatched? And where does it attatch on the transmission. The seal on the transmission was replaced. the truck started and ran before we dropped the transmission but not it only cranks over and will not fire. The only thing not attatched is the vaccuum hose to the transmission and we can't remember where we took it off

TO MY KNOWLEDGE,THERE IS NO VACUUM HOSE TO TRANS..IF THERE IS HOSE OFF,IT MAY A VENT HOSE FOR TRANSFER CASE IF YOUR TRUCK IS 4WD..DID YOU REMOVE CRANK SENSOR FROM BACK OF ENGINE BEFORE YOU REMOVED TRANS..IF NOT,IT MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED UPON INSTALLATION OF TRANS..MAKE SURE IT IS PLUGGED IN ALSO

I have a golf gti automatic. It makes a grinding when comming to stop and when frewheeling at low speed. i've checked brake pads and there fine

cv joint going bad, grease and boot may fix, probably caused by a cracked cv boot, and now the grease is gone, first thing to check is the boot on the cv joint (that's the shaft/joint that turns the wheels)attatches by a single nut in center of your front wheel (outer joint) if not the outer, then ck the inner (attatches to the transmission) (inner joint). most likely is the outer joint though

How do you replace an accelerator cable on a 1997 Olds Cutlass?

U need to have the computer controlled idle speed control valve system tested, also have the intake area checked for vacuum leaks, all of the above can cause the high idle, have never seen a throttle cable cause the problem in 35 years of dealer work experience

Engine hard to start after setting over night. once started works well . why? 1997 cad eldorado

HI,OK IF THE CAR CRANK FOR A LONE TIME AFTER SITTING YOUR ISSUE IS FUEL PRESURE (IE THE PRESURE REGLATOR) ON THE 4.6 NORHSTAR ITS UNDER THE PLASTIC ENGINE COVER SIMPLY REMOVE THE 4 10MM NUTS AND LOOK FOR THE REGULATOR,ITS THE SILVER ROUND THING (WHERE THE FUEL LINES ATTATCH TO THE FUEL RAIL,AND IT HAS A RUBBER VACUME HOSE ATTATCHED TO IT. PULL THE VACUME LINE AND IF FUEL COMES OUT OF THE LINE OR IT SMELLS LIKE FUEL YOU REGULATOR HAS FAILED.
