Question about 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra
My 2001 mustang convertible is an automatic and the car will not shift out of park, but it will start fine and the break lights go on.
SOUNDS LIKE SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID IS STUCK. TRY GIVING A FEW HITS AND PUSH ON AND OFF ON BRAKE PEDAL AND SEE IF YOU CAN FREE IT UP. JAR IT AROUND A BIT LIKE TRYING TO WIGGLE IT OUT WHICLE PUSHING ON AND OFF ON BRAKE PEDAL SEVERL TIMES. DO YOU HEAR A CLICK IN CENTER CONSOLE WHEN PUSHING BRAKE?

You need to change a 15 amp blue fuse....check your glove box owners manual for the fuse listings and what they control...happened on my '98 Crown Vic....I promise you, that'll fix it.
