Thanks Steve. AU xr6 has travelled 228000ks. As I said doesn't miss s beat other wise. Seems a dawnting task to check all the hoses. How?

with patience , pick a hose mark with chalk and feel along it for anything not smooth ie tear, rubbing area etc then move onto the next mark with chalk etc, have you tried the fuel addative ?

Loss of power

Could be not enough fuel entering the engine. Check your fuel filter, it might need to be replaced.

Mondeo Mk3 TDCI suspected fuel contamination

indicates that the fuel was petrol and not diesel
best id to drain the tank , change the fuel filters and refill with the correct fuel
could be contaminated tank at the station but as most have a petrol and diesel hoses side by side it is easy to fill from the wrong hose

96 dodge neon, Loss of power, check engine light

check your fuel pressure, should be 40lbs+ at idle. If you dont know how to do this, have a friend or a shop check it for you. I had same problem, no power at all would barely run ect,, turned out to be fuel pump.
