Question about 2003 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

AC failure leads to total electrical failure.

My compressor was not working. I had the AC system serviced, and it still didn't work. Took it into my mechanic who checked all the fuses, all found to be in working order.

Now, however, the car is stuck in park, and can't be shifted into gear. There is no power to the turn indicators, no power to the window washing system. And who knows how many other systems aren't getting power

It starts, and idles fine. My car is literally stuck at the mechanic's until he can diagnose the problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Bypass ac relay 2000 grand am

Use a wire to connect the two openings parallel to each other just for flash. If you get a spark but no engagement then it's probably not the relay but the clutch. The clutch relies on the relay bringing the ground connections together. Find the grounds in the connector using a continuity tool or reading the diagram on the spade end of the relay, using a magnifying glass if necessary. They're hard to see.

Ac compressor not working while ac switch on of skoda luara

There could be a few reasons why the ac is not working, if you power the compressor it turns on, that means the compressor clutch is working.
The system may be low on freon gas, the next step would be to have a shop hook up to ac system and check gas level. it may be as simple as the system being low. if it is low there may be a leak so have them add dye to the system if it is low.

the system is under pressure caution if you are not ac certified i would not mess with it. adding gas when not needed will cause compressor failure and may even blow hoses, be careful.

I would say the next step would be to check your fuses and then have the freon amount checked, good day

05 tc. A/C blows hot then cold. Didn't blow cold

The A/C pump ismade of three seperate components. You are correct in it being electrical, to some degree. The compressor is self turnes, & in turning moves the freon thru the condensor, dryer, evaporator, & condensor. With the engine off, you can grab the clutch on the compressor, & turn it manually. Now, to your question. When you turn on your A/C, it sends a signal to one of 3 parts on your A/C compressor. The 1st signal, is a charge to the magnet (not its nomenclature name) that pulls the clutch, quickly, into the compressor shaft, so it can start turning. Now as this signal, is working,on an intermittant basis, 1 your clutch has been damaged, not always engaging fully, causing disc wear. The activating magnet, works intermittantly, this too, strains the electrical wiring, going thru the compressor to the magnet. Now the compressor works, but, 2 components, have gotten very hot, by intermittant action. To remove them, if "fused", will be labor intensive. Thanhaving a "sealed" system, dis-assembled, then re-assembled on a mechanics work table. No matter how hard I try its never completely clean......the repaired compressor can allow harmful contaminates into a system that works, with one part not working. Once contaminates are in the system......all the components can be damaged. The mechanic, is giving you the most cost efficieant repair, that will last longest, with least possiblility of failure.

I had my fans replaced but my ac doesnt work, I took it it Auto Zone and they said its my clutch fan

if your a/c doesn`t work the /ac compressor then the system is low on freon and needs to be checked and serviced.check the fuses as this could be the problem.there is also a diode in the wiring at the compressor clutch that attaches between the two wire terminals at the plug.

The air on my 1998 chevy suburban blows but it doesn't get cold. I put free-on in it. It only took a little. The compressor will turn manually & will not kick on. fuse ok. electricity in harness ok....

Probably the electric clutch of the compressor is not working. This is the part that uses the power generated from the drive belt to drive the compressor. Normally if this is working, you would hear a sound in the engine compartment once you turn on the ac. Otherwise you may have only the AC blower spinning. If they check out OK, the thermostat may not be working. Your AC will not engage because it may be getting the wrong signal thermostat.

Ac not blowing cold air

check make sure you have gas in a/c system you may need to take it to a garage with a a/c machine to check pressures but you can check the compressor make sure it works when a/c is swtched on if not it probly means you have no gas in system seazed compressor or no electrical feed to compressor most cases of a/c failure is due to gas leak

Ac not throwing sufficient cold air

I would try recharging the system. if the recharge doesn't produce could air, this will confirm a compressor failure.Inspect the clutch function. the AC clutch should click when it is engaging the compressors actions.

No cold air when A/C on but climate control works in controlling heat

the first check to perform is to see if the compressor is cutting on.... you should be able to hear the engine struggle a bit when the ac is first cut on, or watch the clutch (built into the compressor pulley) begin to spin when the AC is switched on. If it does cut on, likely causes include refrigerant leak or internal system failure. If the compressor is not cutting on, it is a control issue, and some electrical tests must be performed.
