Take a flat bar and angle it the way you would turn it off and tap it with a hammer

Where is the inline fuel filter for a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 (318 hp)?

I don't believe there is one. The filter is on the top of the fuel tank and is part of the pump assembly. the tank will have to be dropped down to remove. 1999 dodge ram owner

How to get the fuel pump out of the gas tank on a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2

you have one or two options you can slide the bed off of the frame enough to gain acess to the top of the fuel tank or you can drop the tank if you drop the tank its better if its not full of gas makes for easier handiling either way once you get access to the top of the tank you will have to use a straight edge and a hammer in order to release the locking tab on the pump once the tab is free you will be able to pull the pump out of the tank. reverse the process in order to reinstall.

How do I remove fuel pump from dodge 1998 1500

An easier way you may want to consider is removing the bed of the truck. There is only 6 bolts from underneath.2 in the front and 4 in the rear then just remove fuel cap and fuel neck screws and unplug tail light plugs on both sides.

Dodge ram fuel pump, Caused by frontal Accident?

this of course could have bent the fuel pump bracket inside the tank or damaged the wiring that supplies it power, stand by your guns, if it worked before the accident then it is accident related, I have had this kind of argument with a few insurance companies, and they always say no until u really pour it on, ask to speak to a supervisor, forget the little claims agent go over his head, it works, just be persistant..
