There are two types. The Control solenoid and, the Kick down solenoid.

If your issues consist of miss shifts and, slippage, replace the control solenoid. If the issue concern downshifting during acceleration, replace the Kick down solenoid.

The kick down will run directly into the valve body.

The control solenoid is the main principal shifter.

Not going forward backwards

Check transmission fluid, if low, fill to proper lvl. Fluid supposed to be reddish pink. If fluid looks good, its probably the transmisson control selonoid. If its dark and/or smells burned, and/or has dark specks throughout the fluid, a fluid change with filter might help, but you will need to replace your transmisson as burned smelling fluid or dark specks in your fluid indicates a severly worn transmission.

My cadillac takes much time before it could shift

You might want to try new shift selonoids. They are inexpensive and easy to change. Drop the pan on the bottom of the transmission and they are right there. Change the filter also while you are there.

I have a 4WD dodge durango slt plus 4.7 and I've been told that the transmission solenoid needs to be repleace. where to find the part and cheap

It depends on which Solenoid it is. If I remember correctly there are 5 in 4WD transmission any one of which might have gone bad. Pricing varies depending on which one you are replacing. When you remove the pan you should see 2 to 3 of them right away. Removing the cover plate should expose the remaining ones. This is a job best left to a transmission specialist unless they have told you exactly which solenoid needs replaced and that has been determined by computer diagnostics.

P0742: Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On (transmission area)

You need to talk to a transmission specialist.
