Or this , forum below , its free and they have DATA.
unlike here, we have zero data, just rumor , mostly.

http://geometroforum.com/index/

ok, spark timing
in the USA? you never said,
Ill guess USA
in the USA open the hood, the sticker on the hood
under it, EPA regs. tells you valve lash too...
tells you the spark timing SPEC. clear as day.
by law here.
they sold G10 engines, or G13bb engines.
ok your other double posts shows the G13bb. ok.

be it Known all suzuki have DLC2 in the bay
from 1988 to 2002, for timing freeze,.
when they went to DIS spark, it ended. fact.
DIS means no timing possible by humans, by law.
here is the procedure on all G engines
distributor timed,spark.

read spec on hood, degree's before TDC BTDC,
Before means to the left if mark on scale,
the mark is on the crank pulley and the scale is on the timing belt cam cover.

hot engine.
Idle speed must be normal, most are 800RPM.
next , insert the timing freeze jumper or the job will be impossible. (unless timed with spark dead)
with this jumper in place in the DLC connector
the ECU freezes timing advance allowing you to set it. by moving the DISTRIBUTOR base.
that is it. after tightening the dist. base bolt
and removing the jumper.
end.
now you know....

I got more.
5Deg BTDC is usa spec. seen under hood sticker.
A.C off, defrost off, PS not overloaded, all accessories off.

the only hard part is identifying, the 2 pins in DLC2, the online fsm schematic skips these 2 wires
and colors.
cavity 4/5 (that is ground on DLC1) but not on DLC2
under hood the pins are unique and some have 4 pins others 6. sadly

pin 4 and 5
or C and D
are the 2 class pins for timing freeze
the 4/5 is 6pin
the C/D is 4 pin conn.

btw, all these steps are on mitchells DIY,
if you log in you can read it.
    post engine size.
    post country
if car was wrecked and hood is new, there will be no EPA sticker, lost.
so if lost, then say so, and we can tell you ALL THAT.

what country, can we start with question 1
or is that too hard, if in usa is car fed car
or calif car. calif is a country here.
PR of CaLIF WITH THEIR OWN SMOG LAWS, AND TIMING.,SPEC.

  • Anonymous Sep 07, 2016

NO ENGINE STATED, MUST WE GUESS ENGINES,
OR have us post the rules for all engines used, in usa there are, 2.

engine VIN 6 or VIN 9./??? VIN engine codes.
we cant guess,... to fix engine, now whats there first and win. and save helper tons of work.

why not buy a real FSM off ebay.
and not have to beg , for 300+ pages of the book, everytime something comes up or doing any service,,
or login to mitchell's and pay the rent for ever.
here ill post those words here,
    hot engine
    idle 800
note how suzuki uses 2 diff. connectors
based on engine or body styles.
a pain this... and is on all 96 suzuki's, this.

(the timing freeze i call it because that is what it DOES)
Remove the cap from the diagnostic check connector, located next to the ignition coil or left side strut tower, and insert a fused jumper wire between appropriate terminals.

With a 4 terminal connector, hold the connector with the locking tab at the top and jump the lower 2 terminals ( C and D).

With a 6 terminal connector, hold the connector with the locking tab at the top and jump the 2 terminals at the lower left ( D and E).

Aim the timing light at the timing marks.

Loosen the distributor hold-down bolt and rotate the distributor until the correct timing marks are aligned.

Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt to 11–15 ft. lbs. (15–20 Nm) and recheck the timing. Make sure the timing advances according to engine speed.

Remove the diagnostic check jumper. Remove the timing light and tachometer.

Need to know what the timing should be set at on a 1993 Geo Metro 1 liter engine?

If you are going to do a timing belt job you should get a book. Along with timing you will need to torque specs. Most parts stores sell manuals for $20. If you dont want to buy a book try autozone.com

No fire to coil replace coal and tested ignition

Try checking the timing belt. They will cause this issue if they are even slightly streched or worn .... because theys slkip and make engine jump time. you can replace it and should solve the problem after you get it back in time.

I dont have a repair manual, need degrees BTDC Please

The timing on your car should be at 6° BTDC. The thing is, Do you have a vacuum advance or electronic advance? With vacuum you would unplug the hose to the distributor and plug it.(LSI) If it has two hoses to the advance it would be the outside hose. I assume you are using an inductive timing light with an inductive clamp that attaches to #1 plug wire.
With electronic ignition you must unplug the diagnostic connector located next to the ignition coil. Then use a jumper wire between the bottom to terminals on the plug. Top being with the plug latch facing up. See what you find. Good luck.

Ignition timing for 1991 Pontiac Firefly or 1991 Chevrolet Sprint or 1991 Geo Metro

for 1991 geo metro 1.0 liter 3 cyl engine the timing is 6 degrees before top dead center. you will need a tachometer because the rpm must be 800 when you set the timing. also you will need to disconnect the vacuum advance to the distributor, and plug the hose to avoid a vacuum leak. (alternate method is to pinch the vacuum advance hose going to the distributor while you are setting the timing) Good Luck!

Need fluid specs for 1992 Geo Metro LSI convertible 1.0L

I always get either the Chilton's Manual or the Haynes Repair Manual (my favorite) for about $20 - $35 at Auto Zone or Pep Boys or any other Retail Auto Parts Store. These give not only fluid specs [capacities and recommended types], but also step by step detailed instructions on repairing anything wrong with that specific model of car, based on a complete tear down and rebuild. A must for used car owners.
